ErbB Receptors and ErbB Targeted Therapies in Endometrial Cancer

open access: yesJournal of Cancer Therapy, 2014
The Epidermal Growth Factor system is present in human organs and plays an important role in cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis during embryogenesis and postnatal development. It has four receptors (EGFR, ErbB-2, ErbB-3 and ErbB-4) and numerous ligands.

Clock genes regulate Ca2+ signaling and mitochondrial bioenergetics to inhibit Sjogren's disease

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Objective Although Ca2+ signaling and metabolism have been identified as key determinants for the development of Sjogren's disease (SjD), the intricate connection between them and salivary gland physiology remains poorly understood. Methods Fluorescence‐based Ca2+ imaging, RNA seq, and mitochondrial activity were used to investigate the effects of ...

Detection of c-erbB-2 mRNAs Using Dig-Labelled Oligonucleotide Probe with in situ Hybridisation in Human Breast Carcinoma: Comparison with Immunohistochemical Results

open access: yesAnalytical Cellular Pathology, 1998
Amplification and overexpression of the c-erbB-2 oncogene are of prognostic significance in human breast cancer. Overexpression of c-erbB-2 is the result of gene amplification.

mGluR1-Dependent Long Term Depression in Rodent Midbrain Dopamine Neurons Is Regulated by Neuregulin 1/ErbB Signaling

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Neuroscience, 2018
Increasing evidence demonstrates that the neurotrophic factor Neuregulin 1 (NRG1) and its receptors, ErbB tyrosine kinases, modulate midbrain dopamine (DA) transmission.

The prognostic impact of EGFR, ErbB2 and MET gene amplification in human gastric carcinomas as measured by quantitative Real-Time PCR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Purpose: Identification of critical genes which play pivotal roles in controlling tumor growth and survival will establish the basis for developing therapeutic targets. In this study, we focused on frequencies of EGFR, ErbB2 and MET gene amplification in

Total Syntheses of Agelamadin F and (±)‐Tauroacidin A, Enabled by NaClO2‐Mediated Coupling Reactions of Oroidin and Amines

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Total syntheses of agelamadin F and (±)‐tauroacidin A were achieved by sodium chlorite (NaClO2)‐mediated oxidative C─N coupling. Nine C15–N–amino acid‐substituted oroidin derivatives were successfully prepared to demonstrate the applicability and versatility of this oxidative coupling reaction.

Inhibition of the EGF receptor by binding of MIG6 to an activating kinase domain interface. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Members of the epidermal growth factor receptor family (EGFR/ERBB1, ERBB2/HER2, ERBB3/HER3 and ERBB4/HER4) are key targets for inhibition in cancer therapy.

Epiregulin binds to epidermal growth factor receptor and ErbB-4 and induces tryosine phosphorylation of epidermal growth factor receptor, ErbB-2, ErbB-3 and ErbB-4 [PDF]

open access: yesOncogene, 1997
Epiregulin is a member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family, and has certain characteristics that are different from that of EGF, including mitogenic responses and binding to EGF receptor (EGFR). Epiregulin may also have another cell surface receptor and/or induces different receptor heterodimerizations for intracellular signaling.

Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 Expression in Prostatic Carcinomas: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of a Potential Therapeutic Target

open access: yesThe Prostate, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction The clinical relevance of HER2 expression profile in solid cancers has expanded with the evolving landscape of HER2 targeting agents. This systematic review and meta‐analysis aim to detail the prevalence of HER (over)expression in prostate cancer and identify patient/disease subgroups with enriched HER2 overexpression.

Covalent drug discovery: Progress against key targets, emerging strategies and lessons learnt

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Covalent drug discovery is currently experiencing a boom in industrial and academic interest. To date, at least 75 covalent drugs have received regulatory approval, targeting both traditional target classes and more challenging proteins for which other approaches failed. In many cases, unique aspects of covalent targeting are essential for the
