Structures of Ras superfamily effector complexes: What have we learnt in two decades? [PDF]
The Ras superfamily small G proteins are master regulators of a diverse range of cellular processes and act via downstream effector molecules. The first structure of a small G protein-effector complex, that of Rap1A with c-Raf1, was published 20 years ...

NF90–NF45 functions as a negative regulator of methyltransferase‐like 3/14 (METTL3/14)‐mediated N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) modification on primary microRNAs (pri‐miRNAs). NF90–NF45 binds to anti‐oncogenic pri‐miRNAs and inhibits their m6A modification, thereby suppressing the biogenesis of anti‐oncogenic miRNAs.

Intercompartmental communication in senescence
Senescent cells experience structural changes in the plasma membrane, endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, lysosomes, nucleus, and cytoskeleton. These alterations disrupt crosstalk among cellular compartments, impairing vesicular trafficking, contact sites, and molecular flow.

p62, an adapter protein involved in selective autophagy, is mainly found in the cytoplasm under normal conditions. Because p62 has nuclear localization signal (NLS) and a nuclear export signal, it has been suggested that p62 shuttles between the nucleus ...

Selinexor and Venetoclax Combination in Patients With Relapsed or Refractory Acute Myeloid Leukemia
ABSTRACT Preclinical studies showed a synergistic antileukemia activity with combination of selective XPO1 inhibitor selinexor (SEL) and venetoclax (VEN), with potential to overcome VEN resistance by reducing the anti‐apoptotic protein MCL1. In an investigator‐sponsored, open‐label, phase Ib study (NCT03955783), adult patients with relapsed or ...

Deficiency of Pkc1 activity affects glycerol metabolism in Saccharomyces cerevisiae [PDF]
In pressProtein kinase C is apparently involved in the control of many cellular systems: the cell wall integrity pathway, the synthesis of ribosomes, the appropriated reallocation of transcription factors under specific stress conditions and also the ...

Hallmarks of brain aging regulated by microRNAs (miRNAs). This graphical abstract illustrates the central role of miRNAs in coordinating key biological processes associated with brain aging. miRNAs regulate multiple interconnected hallmarks, including genomic instability, telomere attrition, epigenetic alterations, loss of proteostasis and impaired ...
