Paraventricular CRF neurons in the hypothalamus project to glutamatergic neurons of the spinal trigeminal caudal nucleus, enhancing neuronal activation and CRFR2 signaling. This pathway increases CRF release and excitatory drive, promoting central sensitization and migraine‐related behaviors. Targeting the PVN–SP5C circuit provides a potential strategy

Terminating Wnt signals: a novel nuclear export mechanism targets activated (beta)-catenin.
Nuclear targeting of beta-catenin is an obligatory step in Wnt signal transduction, but the factors that control import and export remain to be clarified. In this issue, Hendriksen et al. (p. 785) show that the RanBP3 export factor antagonizes beta-catenin/T cell factor (TCF) transcription by targeting the signaling-competent form of beta-catenin.

The AAA+ ATPase Valosin‐containing protein (VCP/p97) regulates protein homeostasis by unfolding ubiquitinated substrates. Here, we describe UTE‐156, a novel irreversible covalent inhibitor that modifies Cys522 in the D2 ATPase motor domain. Although its pharmacochemical limitations preclude immediate therapeutic use, UTE‐156 serves as a valuable ...

Restoring Iron Homeostasis via Smoothened Inhibition: A Novel Strategy Against Hearing Loss
. ABSTRACT Sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) induced by noise or aminoglycoside antibiotics is a significant public health concern without any FDA‐approved pharmaceutical therapies. Dysregulation of iron homeostasis and its subsequently induced ferroptosis has increasingly been identified as a key mechanism underlying cochlear hair cell (HC) damage ...

A zebrafish model carrying an identical human RHO S334X allele reveals two independent genetic layers shaping retinitis pigmentosa (RP) severity: a protective 3‐bp cis‐regulatory insertion that attenuates transgene expression, and a dominant trans‐acting modifier that restores a severe phenotype.

The ER's continuous tubular network is maintained by ER‐shaping proteins whose mutation or dysregulation contributes to neurodegenerative diseases. Here, we show that ER morphology sets the speed of Ca2+ store replenishment between firing events. Disrupting ER continuity slows intra‐ER Ca2+ redistribution from extracellular refill (SOCE) sites, driving

This study presents a hierarchically channeled graphitized nanoarchitecture (HPGC‐Z67) as a novel nano‐diagnostic platform. It enables sensitive and efficient N‐glycan extraction from plasma, significantly reducing processing time and cost. The platform identifies pivotal N‐glycans to accurately differentiate between infectious and non‐infectious ...

Present and Projected Australian Coal Supply Capacity : Impacts of Global Recession and Expansion in Coal Exports to China [PDF]
Australias coal exports in 2008 totaled 252 million tons, accounting for 26.9% of global coal trade (in terms of exports) at 938 million tons. Although Indonesia has expanded its coal exports over recent years and reported exports in 2008 at 203 million ...
