FEBS Letters, EarlyView.We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Analysis of Expressed Sequence Tags of Porphyra yezoensis
Molecules and Cells, 2000 Single direct partial sequencing of anonymous cDNA clones was performed to obtain genetic information on red algae Porphyra yezoensis of which genetic information is not available. This expressed sequence tags (EST) analysis revealed 81 clones (42%) had significant homologies to known genes in GenBank.

Mechanisms of IgE‐mediated food allergy and the role of allergen‐specific B cells
FEBS Letters, EarlyView.Food allergy arises when allergen‐specific B cells preferentially produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against harmless foods. This article explains the mechanisms driving IgE‐mediated reactions, highlights the central role of these B cells, and discusses how natural tolerance (NT) and oral immunotherapy (OIT) can reshape allergic immune responses.
