Synthesis of Trimethylolpropane Esters of Calophyllum Methyl Esters : Effect of Temperature and Molar Ratio

open access: yesInternational Journal of Renewable Energy Development, 2014
Trimethylolpropane esters were synthesized by transesterification of calophyllum methyl esters and trimethylolpropane using a calcium oxide as the catalyst. The results showed that the optimal reaction conditions (temperature: 130 0C, reaction time: 5 h,

Natural Aging of Biomaterials in Ambient and Physiological Environments

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Biomaterials used in biomedical applications can change their physical properties over time, even under ambient and physiological conditions. This review highlights key studies on the natural aging of materials ranging from soft hydrogels to metals and ceramics, emphasizing how time‐dependent changes influence function and performance.

Average nucleotide identity of genome sequences supports the description of Rhizobium lentis sp. nov., Rhizobium bangladeshense sp. nov. and Rhizobium binae sp. nov. from lentil (Lens culinaris) nodules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Rhizobial strains isolated from effective root nodules of field-grown lentil (Lens culinaris) from different parts of Bangladesh were previously analysed using sequences of the 16S rRNA gene, three housekeeping genes (recA, atpD and glnll) and three ...

Experimental viscosity measurements of biodiesels at high pressure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The viscosity of biodiesels of soybean and rapeseed biodiesels blended with mineral diesel fuel were measured at pressures of up to 200 MPa. Using a falling sinker-type viscometer reproducible viscosity data were obtained based on the time taken for a ...

Photochemical Reactions of Unsaturated Fatty Acid Methyl Esters. I.

open access: yesJournal of Japan Oil Chemists' Society, 1971
The photo-dimerization reactions of methyl β-eleostearate were studied. When irradiated with light of high pressure mercury lamp, methyl β-eleostearate was also observed to form the dimer in CCl4 and in CCl3H solutions as well in n-heptane. However, the dimer of the eleostearate obtained by illumination with light in CCl4 or CCl3H was chlorinated.
