Preferences for post‐traumatic osteoarthritis prevention strategies in individuals with anterior cruciate ligament injury

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives There is growing interest in evaluating new strategies to delay or prevent post‐traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) in individuals who have sustained anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. This study sought to determine characteristics of potential treatments that are acceptable to patients with ACL injury.

Electromagnetic design of a new hybrid-excited flux-switching machine for fault-tolerant operations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Paper no. YD-011541In this paper, a new hybrid-excited flux-switching (HEFS) machine is proposed with the outer-rotor configuration, which possesses the distinct feature of fault-tolerant operation.

Risk of Retinopathy Associated with Long‐Term Use of Hydroxychloroquine in Patients with Rheumatic Diseases: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective We aimed to estimate the prevalence and cumulative incidence of hydroxychloroquine retinopathy (HCQ‐R) and its risk factors among long‐term HCQ users with rheumatic diseases through a systematic review and meta‐analysis of observational studies that used spectral‐domain OCT (SD‐OCT) for screening. Methods A systematic search of PubMed, Scopus,

An Adaptive Human Pilot Model With Reaction Time Delay for Enhanced Adaptive Control in Piloted Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This work introduces an adaptive human pilot model that captures pilot time‐delay effects in adaptive control systems. The model enables the prediction of pilot–controller interactions, facilitating safer integration and improved design of adaptive controllers for piloted applications.

Shared memory for a fault-tolerant computer [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
A system is described for sharing a memory in a fault-tolerant computer. The memory is under the direct control and monitoring of error detecting and error diagnostic units in the fault-tolerant computer.

Stator-flux-oriented fault-tolerant control of flux-switching permanent-magnet motors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Flux-switching permanent-magnet (FSPM) motors are a newly developed brushless AC (BLAC) machine having magnets in the stator. This paper proposes and implements a stator-flux-oriented (SFO) control strategy for fault-tolerant operation of FSPM motors ...

Bistable Mechanisms 3D Printing for Mechanically Programmable Vibration Control

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a 3D‐printed bistable mechanism integrated into tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for mechanically adaptive passive vibration suppression. Through optimized geometry, the bistable design provides adaptable vibration reduction across a broad range of scenarios, achieving effective vibration mitigation without complex controls or external ...

EBSD Study of Creep‐Induced Lattice Misorientation in MgO‐Particle‐Reinforced Austenitic Steel Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.
