FGF10 Signaling in Heart Development, Homeostasis, Disease and Repair [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2018
Essential muscular organ that provides the whole body with oxygen and nutrients, the heart is the first organ to function during embryonic development. Cardiovascular diseases, including acquired and congenital heart defects, are the leading cause of mortality in industrialized countries.

Influences of FGF3 and FGF10 on Migration and Invasion of Human Ovarian Cancer SKOV3 Cells and Relation Between These Influences and Wnt/β-catenin Signaling Pathway

open access: yesZhongliu Fangzhi Yanjiu, 2018
Objective To explore the influences of FGF3 and FGF10 on migration and invasion of human ovarian cancer SKOV3 cells and relation between these influences and Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. Methods Human ovarian cancer SKOV3 cells were cultured in vitro

FGF10 Triggers de novo Alveologenesis in a Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia Model: Impact on Resident Mesenchymal Niche Cells

open access: yes, 2022
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is a neonatal lung disease developing in premature babies characterized by arrested alveologenesis and associated with decreased Fibroblast growth factor 10 (FGF10) expression. One-week hyperoxia (HYX) exposure of newborn

Kidney Development in the Absence of Gdnf and Spry1 Requires Fgf10 [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2010
GDNF signaling through the Ret receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) is required for ureteric bud (UB) branching morphogenesis during kidney development in mice and humans. Furthermore, many other mutant genes that cause renal agenesis exert their effects via the GDNF/RET pathway.

FGF10 Protects Against Renal Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury by Regulating Autophagy and Inflammatory Signaling

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2018
Ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) is a common cause of acute kidney injury (AKI), which is associated with high mortality and poor outcomes. Autophagy plays important roles in the homeostasis of renal tubular cells (RTCs) and is implicated in the pathogenesis ...

Bones, Glands, Ears and More: The Multiple Roles of FGF10 in Craniofacial Development

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2018
Members of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family have myriad functions during development of both non-vertebrate and vertebrate organisms. One of these family members, FGF10, is largely expressed in mesenchymal tissues and is essential for postnatal ...

Cross-Talk Between Inflammation and Fibroblast Growth Factor 10 During Organogenesis and Pathogenesis: Lessons Learnt From the Lung and Other Organs

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2021
The adult human lung is constantly exposed to irritants like particulate matter, toxic chemical compounds, and biological agents (bacteria and viruses) present in the external environment.

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Induction of fibroblast growth factor 10 (FGF10) in the ileal crypt epithelium after massive small bowel resection suggests a role for FGF10 in gut adaptation

open access: yes, 2009
We have previously reported that fibroblast growth factor 10 (FGF10) is crucial for the survival and proliferation of progenitor cells during embryonic gastrointestinal development.

FGF10: A potential target for heart regeneration

open access: yesArchives of Cardiovascular Diseases Supplements, 2018
Introduction In mammals, cardiomyocyte proliferation decreases rapidly after birth resulting in limited regenerative capacities in the adult heart. Deciphering developmental mechanisms controlling cardiomyocyte proliferation may thus identify new therapeutic targets to promote adult cardiomyocyte cell cycle re-entry and therefore, cardiac regeneration.
