Serine proteases has been considered to be closely associated with the inflammatory response and tumor progression. As a novel serine protease, the biological function of PRSS23 is rarely studied in cancers.

Up‐regulated cten by FGF2 contributes to FGF2‐mediated cell migration [PDF]
AbstractCten is a focal adhesion molecule that is expressed at very low levels in most normal tissues. Nonetheless, its expression has been found to increase dramatically in many types of cancer including colorectal, breast, gastric, and pancreatic cancer, suggesting that cten may play a critical role during tumorigenesis.

The neuroprotective mechanism of sevoflurane in rats with traumatic brain injury via FGF2
Background Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a kind of acquired brain injury, which is caused by external mechanical forces. Moreover, the neuroprotective role of sevoflurane (Sevo) has been identified in TBI.

Fibroblast Growth Factor-2 Levels are Elevated in The Serum of Patients with Multiple Sclerosis [PDF]
Background: Various factors contribute to the pathogenesis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS), one of which is Fibroblast Growth Factor 2 (FGF2). The function of FGF2 is pleiotropic.

Multiple Therapeutic Applications of RBM-007, an Anti-FGF2 Aptamer
Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) plays a pivotal role in angiogenesis, but is not the only player with an angiogenic function. Fibroblast growth factor-2 (FGF2), which was discovered before VEGF, is also an angiogenic growth factor.

The integrin-binding defective FGF2 mutants potently suppress FGF2 signalling and angiogenesis [PDF]
We recently found that integrin αvβ3 binds to fibroblast growth factor (FGF)-αvβ31 (FGF1), and that the integrin-binding defective FGF1 mutant (Arg-50 to glutamic acid, R50E) is defective in signalling and antagonistic to FGF1 signalling. R50E suppressed angiogenesis and tumour growth, suggesting that R50E has potential as a therapeutic.
