Identification of BR102910 as a selective fibroblast activation protein (FAP) inhibitor

Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2021
Fibroblast activation protein (FAP) belongs to the family of prolyl-specific serine proteases and displays both exopeptidase and endopeptidase activities. FAP expression is undetectable in most normal adult tissues, but is greatly upregulated in sites of tissue remodeling, which include fibrosis, inflammation and cancer.

Selective Inhibitors of Fibroblast Activation Protein (FAP) with a (4-Quinolinoyl)-glycyl-2-cyanopyrrolidine Scaffold

open access: yesACS Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2013
: Fibroblast activation protein (FAP) is a serine protease that is generally accepted to play an important role in tumor growth and other diseases involving tissue remodeling.

Fibroblast activation protein (FAP) as a possible target of an antitumor strategy

Molecular Genetics, Microbiology and Virology, 2016
This review was devoted to the use of the versatile component oftumoral stroma (fibroblast activation protein, FAP) as a target of the versatile tumor therapy. The tumor is a coevolution system, which includes the microenvironment or reactive stroma differing from the normal tissue by the phenotypic and genotypic features.

Stable and scalable SERS tags conjugated with neutravidin for the detection of fibroblast activation protein (FAP) in primary fibroblasts

Nanotechnology, 2021
Abstract SERS tags are a class of nanoparticles with great potential in advanced imaging experiments. The preparation of SERS tags however is complex, as they suffer from the high variability of the SERS signals observed even at the slightest sign of aggregation.

Circulating soluble fibroblast activation protein (FAP) levels are independent of cardiac and extra-cardiac FAP expression determined by targeted molecular imaging in patients with myocardial FAP activation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cardiology
Tissue Fibroblast Activation Protein alpha (FAP) is overexpressed in various types of acute and chronic cardiovascular disease. A soluble form of FAP has been detected in human plasma, and low circulating FAP concentrations are associated with increased risk of death in patients with acute coronary syndrome.
