A High‐Performance Miniaturized Frequency Shift Detection System for QCM‐Based Gravimetric Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, Volume 4, Issue 5, May 2025.
A miniaturized frequency shift detection system based on a phase‐locked loop (PLL) circuit is proposed for simplifying QCM measurement, possessing excellent performance of high sensitivity, resolution, linearity, and accuracy compared with a commercial frequency analyzer.

Stacked Integration of MEMS on LSI

open access: yesMicromachines, 2016
Two stacked integration methods have been developed to enable advanced microsystems of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) on large scale integration (LSI). One is a wafer level transfer of MEMS fabricated on a carrier wafer to a LSI wafer.

Particle Sensor Using Solidly Mounted Resonators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper describes the development of a novel particle sensing system employing zinc oxide based solidly mounted resonator (SMR) devices for the detection of airborne fine particles (i.e., PM2.5 and PM10). The system operates in a dual configuration in

2D α‐In2Se3 Flakes for High Frequency Tunable and Switchable Film Bulk Acoustic Wave Resonators

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 11, Issue 4, April 2025.
α‐In2Se3 nanoflakes‐based dynamic FBARs are developed. The devices are normally‐on and possess small off‐voltage of −4 V. A 26 MHz tuning range is achieved with control voltage from –2 to 4 V at the resonant frequency of 8.6 GHz. The successful implantation of α‐In2Se3 nanoflakes into dynamic acoustic resonators demonstrates that 2D ferroelectric ...

Effects of spatial sensitivity on mass sensing with bulk acoustic mode resonators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The spatial sensitivity of bulk acoustic mode resonators can influence calibrations when they are implemented as accurate mass sensors of surface-bound particles. A new spatial sensitivity model based on images of the resonator surface is introduced from

An Adaptive Five‐Element Array Antenna Based on Miniaturised Polarisation‐Insensitive Absorptive Metamaterial for Anti‐Jamming Applications

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This paper investigates mutual coupling reduction in a five‐element antenna array with constrained aperture dimensions, focusing on polarisation‐insensitive absorptive wall‐type metamaterials for enhanced anti‐jamming performance. The absorptive‐metamaterials‐enhanced adaptive array offers significant advantages for miniaturised platforms and is well ...

Beyond Structural Stabilization of Highly‐Textured AlN Thin Films: The Role of Chemical Effects

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 11, Issue 25, September 3, 2024.
Metallic seed layers with low work function promote the growth of c‐axis oriented, crystalline AlN thin films. This study shows that the effect is predominantly structure‐agnostic and can be linked to a nitrogen termination of the seed metal layers prior to the AlN growth.
