Dosimetry Tests for FLASH RT at PITZ
2023The Photo Injector Test facility at DESY in Zeuthen (PITZ) can provide unique beam parameters regarding delivered dose and dose rate. With an average dose rate of up to $10^7$ Gy/s and peak dose rates of up to $4\times10^{13}$ Gy/s, PITZ is fully capable of FLASH radiation therapy. Nevertheless, dosimetry is a major challenge.

Medical PhysicsAbstract Background Compared to conventional dose rate irradiation, ultra‐high dose rate irradiation provides superior normal tissue sparing. Multi‐energy proton beams combined with a universal range shifter (URS) and fast energy‐switching gantry enable ultra‐high dose rate delivery.
