Forward Dynamics of Flexible Multibody Systems
1994So far, several approaches to the solution of the kinematics and dynamics of multibody systems have been presented. It has been assumed in these approaches that all the bodies satisfy the rigid body condition. A body is assumed to be rigid if any pair of its material points do not present relative displacements.

Assumed modes method and flexible multibody dynamics
Guidance, Navigation and Control Conference, 1993The use of assumed modes in flexible multibody dynamics algorithms requires the evaluation of several domain dependent integrals that are affected by the type of modes used. The implications of these integrals - often called zeroth, first and second order terms - are investigated in this paper, for arbitrarily shaped bodies.

Motion formalism in flexible multibody dynamics
2017A multibody system is characterized by two distinguishing features: system components undergo finite relative rotations and these components are connected by mechanical joints that impose restrictions on their relative motion. Being able to accurately simulate flexible multibody systems is crutial for predicting dynamic properties of a system.

Decoupling Methods in Flexible Multibody Dynamics
13th Computers in Engineering Conference, 1993Abstract The inertia projection schemes used in the existing recursive methods for the dynamic analysis of flexible multibody systems lead to dense coefficient matrices in the acceleration equations. Consequently, there is a strong dynamic coupling between the joint and modal coordinates.

Dynamic Simulation of Multibody Flexible Servomechanisms
1993The generic term multibody systems encompasses a broad set of mechanical systems, ranging from robots, cranes, chains, cables, panels, antennae to human body models and other biosystems. The different kinds of multibody systems that can be distinguished are systems made of connected or separated bodies, systems made of rigid or flexible bodies and ...

Flexible Multibody Dynamics in Crash Analysis
2001The design requirements of advanced mechanical and structural systems exploit the ease of use of the powerful computational resources available today to create virtual prototyping environments. These advanced simulation facilities play a fundamental role in the study of systems that undergo large rigid body motion while their components experience ...

Flexible multibody dynamics approach for tire dynamics simulation
2018<p>The objective of this study is to develop a high-fidelity physics-based flexible tire model that can be fully integrated into multibody dynamics computer algorithms for use in on-road and off-road vehicle dynamics simulation without ad-hoc co-simulation techniques.

Dynamic analysis of flexible multibody systems
2004The paper presents numerical solutions for constrained flexible multibody systems. The equation of motion for holonomic constrained flexible system undergoing large displacments and rotations but small elastic strains, using description in terms of finite element coordinates, is derived.

Linearized Flexible Multibody Dynamics Including Geometric Stiffening Effects∗
Mechanics of Structures and Machines, 1991Abstract In multibody system simulation for vehicle dynamics applications, it is often sufficient to consider a set of system equations in which the kinematics are linearized. On the other hand, care must be taken to model the flexibility of the system bodies correctly and to be able to introduce the highly nonlinear force laws appearing in multibody ...
