Transparent and Traceable Food Supply Chain Management [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
The food supply chain has a number of challenges, including a lack of transparency and disengagement among stakeholders. By providing a transparent and traceable digital ledger of transactions and movements for all supply chain actors, blockchain technology can provide a resolution to these problems.

Business-to-business e-commerce: an innovative tool for food chain management [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A supply chain is a network of facilities and distribution options that performs the functions of procurement of materials, transformation of these materials into intermediate and finished goods, and the distribution of the final goods to customers. The

B cell mechanobiology in health and disease: emerging techniques and insights into therapeutic responses

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
B cells sense external mechanical forces and convert them into biochemical signals through mechanotransduction. Understanding how malignant B cells respond to physical stimuli represents a groundbreaking area of research. This review examines the key mechano‐related molecules and pathways in B lymphocytes, highlights the most relevant techniques to ...

Scientific Opinion on Chloramphenicol in food and feed

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2014
Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic not authorised for use in food‐producing animals in the European Union (EU). However, being produced by soil bacteria, it may occur in plants.

Food webs and the principle of evolutionary adaptation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
A principle of evolutionary adaptation is applied to the Lotka--Volterra models, in particular to the food webs. We present a relatively simple computational algorithm of optimization with respect to a given criterion. This algorithm boils down to a sequence of easy to solve linear programming problems.

Global asymptotic properties for a Leslie-Gower food chain model [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Biosciences and Engineering 6:585-590 (2009), 2011
We study global asymptotic properties of a continuous time Leslie-Gower food chain model. We construct a Lyapunov function which enables us to establish global asymptotic stability of the unique coexisting equilibrium state.

Surfaceome: a new era in the discovery of immune evasion mechanisms of circulating tumor cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the era of immunotherapies, many patients either do not respond or eventually develop resistance. We propose to pave the way for proteomic analysis of surface‐expressed proteins called surfaceome, of circulating tumor cells. This approach seeks to identify immune evasion mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic targets. Circulating tumor cells (

Malachite green in food

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2016
Malachite green (MG) has been used globally in aquaculture but is not registered for use in food‐producing animals in the European Union. The European Commission requested EFSA to evaluate whether a reference point for action (RPA) of 2 μg/kg for the sum
