State‐dependent luminescence is achieved by utilizing the photocycloreversion of a series of phenanthrene cycloadducts and their parent phenanthrene molecules, which includes freely emissive monomer and quenched excimer in solution, as well as constrained emissive monomer and nonclassical emissive excimer in aggregate.

Leveraging Noncovalent Interactions for the Binding of CO by a Weakly Lewis Acidic Borane
We report a carbonyl complex featuring a simple tri‐coordinate borane, characterized by a Lewis acidity which is only marginally higher than B(NMe2)3. Exposure of {(Ph2P)xanth}3B to carbon monoxide under mild conditions (1 bar, 25 °C) reversibly yields {(Ph2P)xanth}3B·CO.

Imino‐Pyrrole Zn(II) Complexes for the Rapid and Selective Chemical Recycling of Commodity Polymers
Three imino‐pyrrole zinc (II) catalysts were prepared and applied to the chemical recycling of PLA, PET, and BPA‐PC. Rapid PLA degradation was accomplished in solution and under solvent‐free conditions, the latter giving full conversion at relatively mild temperatures after 11 min.

PPh3/Isocyanide and N2/Isocyanide Exchange: Pathways to Isolable Alkali Metal Keteniminyl Anions
The synthesis of isolable keteniminyl anions through substitution of the phosphine ligand in metalated ylides or the N₂ ligand in diazomethanides with isocyanides is reported. The anions feature a bent geometry, with the angle decreasing with increasing donor ability of the nitrogen substituent, and exhibit broad applicability in the formation of ...

Multifunctional Position and Stiffness Control of Soft Fluidic Actuators Using Supercooled Liquid
This work explores the use of supercooled liquid as a multifunctional working fluid for soft actuators to allow independent control of position and stiffness; the solution is used to both inflate the elastomer chambers while in liquid state and to achieve a dramatic increase in stiffness (up to 13 times) with rapid, reversible crystallization.

We propose for the first time the concept of organic‐inorganic hybrid oriented PN heterostructured films to modulate the photocatalytic performance by constructing COF‐based PN heterostructured films, and our mechanistic studies confirm that oriented TAPB‐DMTA COFs based on thin films of PN heterostructures can provide the driving force to enhance the ...

Synthesis of a Molecular Tweezer Based on Norbornadiene Framework: Unexpected Stereoselectivity
A new type of Klarner's molecular tweezer was synthesized through annulation of an α‐amino ketone. Surprisingly, the reaction takes place stereoselectivity though the initial amino ketone is racemic. This tweezer comprises two near‐parallel flat aromatic rings as pincers, each bearing two methyl ester groups, and a pyrazine unit as the tether ...

The widely used [2+2] cycloaddition‐retroelectrocyclization reaction between tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) and an activated alkyne has been shown to occur with “inverted” regiochemistry to give exclusive formation of an unexpected regioisomer. A combined experimental and theoretical study helped unravel the peculiar reaction mechanism underlying the ...
