Background: White matter (WM) damage is a consistent finding in HIV-infected (HIV+) individuals. Previous studies have evaluated WM fiber tract-specific brain regions in HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND) using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI).

The evolution of white matter microstructural changes after mild traumatic brain injury: A longitudinal DTI and NODDI study. [PDF]
Neuroimaging biomarkers that can detect white matter (WM) pathology after mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and predict long-term outcome are needed to improve care and develop therapies.

ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...

Flexoelectrically Induced Polar Topology in Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes
Twisted SrTiO3 bilayers host polar vortices of flexoelectric origin, revealed through combined experiment and theory. By reconstructing polarization from the toroidal moment of strain gradients, the work establishes a 3D chiral state with broken inversion and mirror symmetries.

Objective: Based on diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) data, we used DTI-analysis along the perivascular space (DTI-ALPS) and free-water mapping to investigate the function of the glymphatic system and its relationship with clinical features among pediatric ...

Diffusion MRI and α‐Synuclein Seed Amplification Status in Parkinson's Disease
Objective Positive α‐synuclein seed amplification assay (SAA) is a biomarker found in most people with Parkinson's disease (PD). We explored if free‐water (FW) imaging detects microstructural differences in the brains of patients with early PD with SAA+ or SAA– status.

Abstract Teaching white matter (WM) anatomy to undergraduates is challenging. This is partly because WM fibers are oriented intricately and Klingler's dissection, the gold standard method used to demonstrate it, often requires time, advanced anatomical knowledge, and refined dissection skills.
