Structure Based Multitargeted Molecular Docking Analysis of Selected Furanocoumarins against Breast Cancer

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2019
Breast cancer is one of the biggest global dilemmas and its current therapy is to target the hormone receptors by the use of partial agonists/antagonists. Potent drugs for breast cancer treatment are Tamoxifen, Trastuzumab, Paclitaxel, etc.

Convergent evolution leading to the appearance of furanocoumarins in citrus plants.

open access: yesPlant Science, 2020
Furanocoumarins are defense molecules mainly described in four plant families that are phylogenetically distant. Molecular characterization of the biosynthetic pathway has been started for many years in Apiaceae and Rutaceae.

Gut Metabolism of Furanocoumarins: Proposed Function of Co O-Methyltransferase

open access: yesACS Omega, 2020
Gut metabolism of natural products is of great interest due to the altered biological activity of the metabolites. To study the gut metabolism of the dietary furanocoumarins, the biotransformation of Angelica dahurica was studied with human gut ...

Second‐Generation Crystalline Sponges Enabling Consistent Structure Analysis Under Standardized Conditions for Diverse Molecules

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
The second‐generation crystalline sponge method allows structurally diverse molecular guests to crystallize under standardized crystallization conditions. The key is the predominant packing type of cages and anions in crystals. ABSTRACT Crystallization is typically highly sensitive to even minor structural differences in target molecules.

Determination of benchmark doses for linear furanocoumarin consumption associated with inhibition of cytochrome P450 1A2 isoenzyme activity in healthy human adults

open access: yesToxicology Reports, 2021
Millions of individuals globally consume traditional herbal medicines (THMs), which contain abundant amounts of linear furanocoumarins. Linear furanocoumarins (i.e., 8-methoxypsoralen, 5-methoxypsoralen, and isopimpinellin) are inhibitors of cytochrome ...

Pharmacokinetic Evaluation of a Cinnamon Product on CYP2A6 Substrate Drugs: Application of a Novel Tool Involving the Nicotine Metabolite Ratio

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Cinnamon (Cinnamomum spp.) is used as a culinary spice and dietary supplement. A major constituent, cinnamaldehyde, was previously shown to inactivate cytochrome P450 (CYP) 2A6 in vitro. A mechanistic static model predicted an ~5‐fold increase in the AUC of the CYP2A6 substrates nicotine and letrozole.

Variability of composition of essential oil and coumarin compounds of Angelica archangelica L.

open access: yesHerba Polonica, 2019
The medicinal and culinary properties of Angelica archangelica L. have been known and valued since the Middle Ages. Ingredients of essential oil and coumarins found in this plant are to a large degree responsible for its pharmacological activity.

Neopapillarine, an Unusual Coumarino-Alkaloid from the Root Extract of Neocryptodiscus papillaris with Cytotoxic Activity on Renal Cancer Cells

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Several simple and prenylated coumarin derivatives were isolated from the dichloromethane extract of the root of Neocryptodiscus papillaris based on moderate cytotoxic activity of the extract in COLO205, KM12 and MCF7 cancer cells.

A Super‐Pangenome for Cultivated Citrus Reveals Evolutive Features During the Allopatric Phase of Their Reticulate Evolution

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
Structure of the cultivated citrus super‐pangenome. ABSTRACT The main genetic diversity observed in cultivated citrus results from a reticulate evolution involving four ancestral taxa whose radiation occurred in allopatry. In such context, GWAS analysis, genome diversity and transcriptomic studies will be significantly enhanced through pangenome ...

Changes of furanocoumarins content in vegetables during storage

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2004
Long term experiments, which simulated storage of celery (Apium graveolens) under industrial (airconditioned store)/household (common cellar) conditions, were carried out.
