Naphthalene Diimides as Multimodal G-Quadruplex-Selective Ligands
G-quadruplexes are four-stranded nucleic acids structures that can form in guanine-rich sequences. Following the observation that G-quadruplexes are particularly abundant in genomic regions related to cancer, such as telomeres and oncogenes promoters ...

G-quadruplex–R-loop interactions and the mechanism of anticancer G-quadruplex binders [PDF]
AbstractGenomic DNA and cellular RNAs can form a variety of non-B secondary structures, including G-quadruplex (G4) and R-loops. G4s are constituted by stacked guanine tetrads held together by Hoogsteen hydrogen bonds and can form at key regulatory sites of eukaryote genomes and transcripts, including gene promoters, untranslated exon regions and ...

AND‐Logic‐Gated Aptamer Switch for Precise Targeting and Regulation of RNA G‐Quadruplexes
An AND‐logic‐gated aptamer switch enables tumor‐selective activation of RNA G‐quadruplex (rG4)‐targeting function. By combining cell‐surface recognition and intracellular redox sensing, the system achieves precise regulation of disease‐relevant RNA structures exclusively in tumor cells, with minimal off‐target effects in normal cells, offering a ...

Kinetics and thermodynamics of G-quadruplexes [PDF]
The melting of tetramolecular DNA or RNA quadruplexes is kinetically irreversible. However, rather than being a hindrance, this kinetic inertia allows us to study association and dissociation processes independently. General rules have been extended to longer DNA motifs or sequences containing modified bases such as 8-oxo or 7-deaza guanine.

G-quadruplexes (G4) are stacked nucleic acid structures that are stabilized by heme. In cells, they affect DNA replication and gene transcription. They are unwound by several helicases but the composition of the repair complex and its heme sensitivity ...

New Modified Deoxythymine with Dibranched Tetraethylene Glycol Stabilizes G-Quadruplex Structures
Methods for stabilizing G-quadruplex formation is a promising therapeutic approach for cancer treatment and other biomedical applications because stable G-quadruplexes efficiently inhibit biological reactions. Oligo and polyethylene glycols are promising

Mechanically Triggered DNA Nanovehicles for Targeted Dual‐Drug Cancer Therapy
A mechanically triggered DNA nanovehicle is introduced that co‐releases two anticancer drugs in response to integrin‐mediated cellular forces. Cholesterol‐anchored DNA assemblies undergo force‐induced unfolding at cell–cell junctions, enabling selective, localized dual‐drug activation in cancer cells while minimizing off‐target toxicity in low‐tension ...
