Phytochemical Profiling and Characterization of Honeydew, Cantaloupe, and Galia Melon Peel Extracts for Potential Prebiotic Activities

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
Bioactive compounds are recovered from Honeydew, Cantaloupe, and Galia melon peels through aqueous and ethanolic extraction followed by freeze‐drying. The resulting extracts undergo comprehensive characterization using HPLC, FTIR, and NMR spectroscopy to define their chemical profiles.

Optimization of prebiotics in soybean milk using mixture experiments [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2009
A mixture experiment was used to optimize prebiotic mixtures in soybean milk formulation. Inulin (I), galactooligosaccharides(GOS), and isomalto-oligosaccharides (IMO) were the prebiotic ingredients added (4% w/v) to soybean milk.

Neutral and acidic oligosaccharides supplementation does not increase the vaccine antibody response in preterm infants in a randomized clinical trial.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
BackgroundIn preterm infants, a decreased immunological response and lower serological effectiveness are observed after immunizations due to ineffectiveness of both humoral and cellular immune mechanisms.ObjectiveTo determine the effect of 80% neutral ...
