Ganoderic Acid in the Treatment of Prostate Cancer [PDF]

open access: yesJundishapur Journal of Natural Pharmaceutical Products, 2012
Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men and is the second most common cause of cancer-related deaths in the western world. Presently, the most common options for treatment are prostatectomy, radiation and chemotherapy. While certain immunotherapeutics have shown promise in clinical trials, the search for more effective, long-term ...

Ganoderic acid A attenuates lipopolysaccharide-induced lung injury in mice [PDF]

open access: yesBioscience Reports, 2019
Abstract The present study aimed to investigate the protective effects of ganoderic acid A (GAA) on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute lung injury. In mouse model of LPS-induced acute lung injury, we found that GAA led to significantly lower lung wet-to-dry weight ratio and lung myeloperoxidase activity, and attenuated ...

Comprehensive Evaluation of Ganoderma Lucidum Infusion Products: Ganoderic Acid A Profiling, and Quality Indicators [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering
Reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) is widely consumed for its health benefits, mainly due to the presence of polysaccharides and triterpenoids. Among these, triterpenoids—especially ganoderic acids—are more easily extracted, which has led to the ...

A Review on the Sources, Structures, and Pharmacological Activities of Lucidenic Acids

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
Ganoderma lucidum has long been used as a multi-purpose plant and functional food. The pharmacological properties of G. lucidum are primarily attributed to its polysaccharides and triterpenoids.

Glycosylation of Ganoderic Acid F by Bacillus Glycosyltransferase

open access: yesAgrochemicals, 2022
Ganoderma lucidum is a medicinal fungus and has been used for improvements of health or prevention of certain diseases in Asia for thousands of years. Despite numerous kinds of triterpenoids having been identified from G. lucidum, few natural Ganoderma triterpenoids exist in the form of glycosides (saponins).

Effects of growth stage on the fermentation quality, microbial community, and metabolomic properties of Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) silage

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2023
IntroductionThis study aimed to investigate the effects of different growth stages (booting period-SYK; initial flowering-SCK; full flowering-SSK) on the fermentation quality, microbial community, metabolic pathways and metabolomic characteristics of ...

The anti-Alzheimer's disease effects of ganoderic acid A by inhibiting ferroptosis-lipid peroxidation via activation of the NRF2/SLC7A11/GPX4 signaling pathway.

open access: yesChemico-Biological Interactions
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a degenerative disease of the central nervous system, characterized by a gradual decline in cognitive and memory abilities, social disorders, and behavioral abnormalities. Ferroptosis, an iron-dependent type of programmed cell

Development of a CRISPR/Cas9 Genome Editing System in Dikaryotic Ganoderma lucidum for Targeting Key CYP450 Gene Involved in Triterpenoid Synthesis

open access: yesJournal of Fungi
Currently, most research on CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) gene editing in edible fungi focuses on monokaryotic strains.

Development of a Rapid and Confirmatory Method to Identify Ganoderic Acids in Ganoderma Mushrooms [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2012
To examine the composition of lanostanoids in Ganoderma lucidum, we have developed a liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) method by using the ganoderic acids isolated in our laboratory as reference standards. The identity of 14 peaks in the high performance liquid chromatogram (HPLC) of G. lucidum has been confirmed.
