Aging‐Derived Alterations in Genomic, Immune, and Metabolic Networks: Implications for Cancer Development and Therapy

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
Ageing acts as a double‐edged sword in cancer. In the elderly, open chromatin, immunosenescence, and chronic inflammation drive SASP (IL‐6, MMPs), MDSC accumulation and T‐cell suppression, fostering tumor‐promoting microenvironments and limited therapeutic benefit.

Improved ganoderic acids production in Ganoderma lucidum by wood decaying components [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
AbstractGanoderma lucidumis a legendary Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) over a few thousands of years and one kind of its major active components are Ganoderic acids (GAs). GAs are largely produced in the mushroom primordium and fruiting body but much less in mycelium stage. However, little is known on the underlying regulatory mechanism.

Influence of cultivation substrate on antioxidant activities and triterpenoid profiles of the fruiting body of Ganoderma lucidum

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition
IntroductionThe fruiting body of Ganoderma lucidum has been believed to possess a wide range of therapeutic effects. There are two main methods for artificial cultivation of G.

A New Triterpenoid Glucoside from a Novel Acidic Glycosylation of Ganoderic Acid A via Recombinant Glycosyltransferase of Bacillus subtilis

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Ganoderic acid A (GAA) is a bioactive triterpenoid isolated from the medicinal fungus Ganoderma lucidum. Our previous study showed that the Bacillus subtilis ATCC (American type culture collection) 6633 strain could biotransform GAA into compound (1 ...

Ganoderic Acids Alleviate Neuroinflammation by Targeting Myeloid Differentiation Factor 2 for Ischemic Stroke Therapy

open access: yesExploration, Volume 6, Issue 1, February 2026.
Ganoderic acids confer neuroprotection in ischemic stroke by directly targeting MD2, thereby blocking MD2/TLR4 complex formation and downstream MAPK and NF‐κB activation. This suppresses microglia‐driven neuroinflammation and mitigates cerebral ischemic injury.

Ganoderic acid and its derivatives as cholesterol synthesis inhibitors.

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 1989
Oxygenated lanosterol derivatives, which were isolated from Ganoderma lucidum (Polyporaceae) or their derivatives obtained by chemical conversion, were tested for their effect on cholesterol biosynthesis from 24,25-dihydrolanosterol by rat hepatic subcellular 10,000 x g supernatant fraction.

Multi‐Omics Analysis Reveals the Potential Preventive Mechanism of Lactobacillus salivarius Li01 Against L‐Arginine‐Induced Acute Pancreatitis in Mice

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 19, Issue 1, January 2026.
This study reveals that Lactobacillus salivarius Li01 alleviates acute pancreatitis by increasing gut Paramuribaculum. This modulation of the microbiota and its steroid hormone metabolites suppresses the pancreatic TNF signaling pathway, uncovering a protective ‘gut‐metabolism‐immunity’ axis.

Effect of aspirin concentration on the accumulation of ganoderic acids and fungal biomass.

open access: yes, 2013
Fungal mycelium was cultured on PDA for 4 days and then incubated with 0.5–8 mM aspirin for additional 1 day. Fungal biomass (A), accumulation of lanosta-7,9(11), 24-trien-3α-o1-26-oic acid (ganoderic acid 24) (B) and total ganoderic acids (total GAs) (C)

Pharmacokinetics of Ganoderic Acids A and F after Oral Administration of Ling Zhi Preparation in Healthy Male Volunteers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The objectives of this paper were to evaluate the pharmacokinetics of ganoderic acids A and F after a single oral dose of the water extract of MG2-strain Ling Zhi (MG2FB-WE) and to assess the influence of food on the pharmacokinetics in 12 healthy male ...

Systemic Effect of Ganoderma lucidum Filtrate on Septoria Leaf Spot and Pycnidia Formation by Septoria lycopersici

open access: yesJournal of Phytopathology, Volume 174, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate the potential of the mycelial growth filtrate (MGF) from Ganoderma lucidum in providing systemic protection to tomato plants against Septoria lycopersici‐induced leaf spot and inhibiting the production of reproductive structures by the phytopathogen. In greenhouse experiments, foliar application of MGF at 40% (v/v)
