GEF-H1 mediates RhoA dependent NF-κB activation.

open access: yes, 2013
(A) GEF-H1 mediated NF-κB reporter gene expression in the absence or presence of dominant negative RhoA (T19N) or the ROCK inhibitor Y27632 in HEK293.

Size, Spines, and Nests: What Drives Variation in Death‐Feigning Behavior in Fungus‐Farming Ants?

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
We investigated death‐feigning (DF; thanatosis) in fungus‐farming ants, testing how stimulus intensity, morphology, and nest traits shape its occurrence and duration using generalized linear mixed models. Stronger stimuli increased both likelihood and duration, but most variation was structured across species, colonies, and individuals.

Changes in Site Occupancy of Marsh‐Breeding Frogs Are Associated With Surrounding Land Cover: Implications for Conservation Planning

open access: yesAnimal Conservation, EarlyView.
To help ensure the growth and persistence of frog populations, we quantified changes in frog occurrence as a function of concurrent changes in land cover in the surrounding landscape of eight marsh‐breeding frog species, or groups of species. We used data from the Great Lakes Marsh Monitoring Program delivered by Birds Canada at 377 sites across four ...

Expanding the Regulatory Repertoire of GEFs

open access: yesPLoS Biology, 2013
Small GTPases comprise a large and heterogeneous group of regulatory proteins that act throughout the cell as on/off switches, orchestrating processes as diverse as endocytosis at the plasma membrane to protein export from the nucleus. GTPases themselves are controlled by proteins called guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs).

Testing the Assumption That Tiger Population Recovery Increases Conflict Across Their Range

open access: yesAnimal Conservation, EarlyView.
Tiger population recovery is widely assumed to increase conflict with people, yet this assumption has rarely been examined using range‐wide evidence. Analysing data from ten tiger range countries between 2010 and 2025, we found no consistent evidence that tiger population recovery is associated with increased conflict incidents.

Human Kalirin/RAC1 GEF/GTPase Complex

open access: yes, 2019
We have cloned, expressed, purified and crystallised the first DH GEF domain of Kalirin (gene: KALRN) in complex with RAC1 (gene: RAC1) as part of a programme to explore a new way of targeting GTPases.

Targeting KRAS for cancer therapy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
In recent years, therapeutics targeted against KRAS proto‐oncogene GTPase (KRAS)‐mutant cancers have seen significant progress. Herein we outline the biology and epidemiology of KRAS alterations at the lineage and allele levels, reviewing the clinical evidence for KRASG12C inhibition from the discovery of the recessive switch pocket to sotorasib ...

A comparative analysis of attitudes toward genome-edited food among Japanese public and scientific community.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
Genome editing technologies such as CRISPR/Cas9 have been developed in the last decade and have been applied to new food technologies. Genome-edited food (GEF) is a crucial issue with those new food technologies.
