Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

JUSTIFICATION OF USING A SCREEN MODEL TO PREDICT THE EFFECTIVE VISCOSITY OF PPG IN OPEN FRACTURES

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Нефть и газ, 2016
This work purpose was to develop a method for determination of the effective viscosity of the granulated gel PPG for blocking anthropogenic fractures (auto-FHF fractures) which is applied at later stages of oil fields development.

Cultivar Differences for Gel Consistency in Sorghum [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
The potential of gel consistency tests in the evaluation of sorghum food quality was investigated. Gelspread of cooled thin porridges exhibitedsignificent cultivar differences and was affected by season, available soil moisture, dehulling and grinding ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

NEW MODEL TO DETERMINE THE PRESSURE GRADIENT OF PELLETIZED GEL PPG IN THE ANTHROPOGENIC FRACTURE

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Нефть и газ, 2015
The ultimate goal of this paper is to develop a method to to determine the pelletized gel pressure gradient, PPG, in fractures resulted from FHF applied at later stages of oil fields development.

Cooking and functional properties of parboiled milled local rice marketed in the south-east zone of Nigeria

open access: yesInternational Journal of Food Studies, 2020
Imported rice is perceived to have better cooking properties than locally grown rice in Nigeria and it has increased its market share while reducing patronage for local rice.

High-Protein Foods for Dysphagia: Manipulation of Mechanical and Microstructural Properties of Whey Protein Gels Using De-Structured Starch and Salts

open access: yes, 2022
This study focuses on understanding the effect of ionic strength on the mechanical and microstructural properties of novel composite gels containing 13% whey protein isolate (WPI) and 4% de-structured waxy potato starch (DWPS).

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.
