The chicken c-fos gene: cloning and nucleotide sequence analysis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 1987
Using a DNA probe from an avian transforming virus, NK24, that contains the fos gene and that was newly isolated and characterized (M. Nishizawa, N. Goto, and S. Kawai, J. Virol. 61:3733-3740, 1987), we cloned and sequenced the chicken c-fos gene.

Chronic Stress Triggers Expression of Immediate Early Genes and Differentially Affects the Expression of AMPA and NMDA Subunits in Dorsal and Ventral Hippocampus of Rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Indexación: Web of Science; Scopus.Previous studies in rats have demonstrated that chronic restraint stress triggers anhedonia, depressive-like behaviors, anxiety and a reduction in dendritic spine density in hippocampal neurons.

Screening and Identification of Key Genes for Activation of Islet Stellate Cell

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2021
BackgroundIt has been demonstrated that activated islet stellate cells (ISCs) play a critical role in islet fibrogenesis and significantly contribute to the progression of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Stimulation of Fos- and Jun-related Genes During Distraction Osteogenesis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Histochemistry & Cytochemistry, 2003
Bone cells respond to mechanical stimulation by gene expression. The molecular events involved in the translation of mechanical stimulation into cell proliferation and bone formation are not yet well understood. We looked for the expression of early-response genes of the AP-1 transcription factor complex in an in vivo bone regeneration system ...

Subepicardial adipose genes contribute to the deterioration of heart failure preserved ejection fraction

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
BackgroundThe mortality of patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI) raised rapidly in last decade and obesity are becoming the major cause to CAD progression, thus inducing heart failure preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).

Identification of a Novel Gene Correlated With Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells Proliferation and Migration in Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2021
Objective: Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is characterized by thrombofibrotic obstruction of the proximal pulmonary arteries, which result in vascular remodeling of the distal pulmonary artery.

Screening and Identification of Hub Genes in the Development of Early Diabetic Kidney Disease Based on Weighted Gene Co-Expression Network Analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2022
ObjectiveThe study aimed to screen key genes in early diabetic kidney disease (DKD) and predict their biological functions and signaling pathways using bioinformatics analysis of gene chips interrelated to early DKD in the Gene Expression Omnibus ...

HDAC-mediated control of ERK- and PI3K-dependent TGF-β-induced extracellular matrix-regulating genes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Histone deacetylases (HDACs) regulate the acetylation of histones in the control of gene expression. Many non-histone proteins are also targeted for acetylation, including TGF-ß signalling pathway components such as Smad2, Smad3 and Smad7. Our studies in

Erythropoietin-induced serine 727 phosphorylation of STAT3 in erythroid cells is mediated by a MEK-, ERK-, and MSK1-dependent pathway [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Objective. Erythropoietin (EPO) is a key regulator of erythropoiesis, playing a role in both the proliferation and differentiation of erythroid cells.

Gastrin induces c-fosgene transcription via multiple signaling pathways [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Physiology-Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology, 1998
We previously observed that the trophic actions of gastrin (G17) on the AR42J rat acinar cell line are mediated by mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK)-induced c- fos gene transcription via protein kinase C (PKC)-dependent and -independent pathways.
