CXCR5+ CD8 T Cells: Protective or Pathogenic?

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2019
CD8 T cells are infrequently considered part of germinal center reactions. Yet, a distinct CXCR5+ CD8 T cell subset identified within the B cell follicle and germinal center in situations of chronic antigen has recently been defined.

TOMM20 as a driver of cancer aggressiveness via oxidative phosphorylation, maintenance of a reduced state, and resistance to apoptosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TOMM20 increases cancer aggressiveness by maintaining a reduced state with increased NADH and NADPH levels, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and apoptosis resistance while reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. Conversely, CRISPR‐Cas9 knockdown of TOMM20 alters these cancer‐aggressive traits.

A MACS protocol for purification of untouched germinal center B cells from unimmunized or germinal center-induced mice

open access: yesSTAR Protocols, 2022
Summary: Highly enriched germinal center (GC) B cell populations are essential for studying humoral immunity. Current MACS protocols that isolate untouched GC B cells require GC induction and typically require further FACS purification with direct ...

Transcriptome‐wide analysis of circRNA and RBP profiles and their molecular relevance for GBM

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CircRNAs are differentially expressed in glioblastoma primary tumors and might serve as therapeutic targets and diagnostic markers. The investigation of circRNA and RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs) interactions shows that distinct RBPs play a role in circRNA biogenesis and function.

FACS Staining for Follicular Helper T Cells

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2012
Germinal center is the primary site for B cells to undergo somatic hypermutation and class switching. A recently discovered subset of T cells known as T follicular helper (TFH) cells are essential for germinal center reaction and thus have been the ...

Multi-type Galton-Watson processes with affinity-dependent selection applied to antibody affinity maturation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We analyze the interactions between division, mutation and selection in a simplified evolutionary model, assuming that the population observed can be classified into fitness levels. The construction of our mathematical framework is motivated by the modeling of antibody affinity maturation of B-cells in Germinal Centers during an immune response.

Predicting B Cell Receptor Substitution Profiles Using Public Repertoire Data

open access: yes, 2018
B cells develop high affinity receptors during the course of affinity maturation, a cyclic process of mutation and selection. At the end of affinity maturation, a number of cells sharing the same ancestor (i.e.

Exploration of heterogeneity and recurrence signatures in hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study leveraged public datasets and integrative bioinformatic analysis to dissect malignant cell heterogeneity between relapsed and primary HCC, focusing on intercellular communication, differentiation status, metabolic activity, and transcriptomic profiles.

Expression of two markers of germinal center T cells (SAP and PD-1) in angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma

open access: yesHaematologica, 2007
Background and Objectives In the present paper we report that SAP, an intracytoplasmic molecule that is involved in cell signaling, is an immunohistologic marker for germinal center T cells in paraffin-embedded tissue.
