Biosynthesis and structure of glycosyl diglycerides, steryl glucosides, and acylated steryl glucosides

Lipids, 1975
AbstractA particulate enzyme fraction fromMycobacterium smegmatis catalyzed the transfer of14C‐glucose from UDP‐14C‐glucose into neutral glycolipids. The two major radioactive components were purified by column chromatography on 0‐diethylamino ethyl cellulose (acetate) and thin layer chromatography on silica gel in several solvents.

Phenolic Glucosides and a γ-Lactone Glucoside from the Sprouts of Crocus sativus

Planta Medica, 1999
Two new phenolic glucosides, a new gamma-lactone glucoside, and adenosine were isolated from the sprouts of CROCUS SATIVUS L. The new compounds were characterized as 2,4- dihydroxy-6-methoxyacetophenone-2beta-D-glucopyranoside, 2,3,4-trihydroxy-6-methoxyacetopenone-3-beta-D-glucopyranoside and 3-( S)-3-beta-D-glucopyranosyloxybutanolide, respectively ...

Synthese neuer Glucoside [PDF]

Acidic conjugate of phenols in insects: glucoside phosphate and glucoside sulphate derivatives

Xenobiotica, 1983
Conjugates of p-nitrophenol in nine species of insects were identified by paper chromatography and ionophoresis as the glucoside, the sulphate, the phosphate and the glucoside phosphate. Metabolites with similar properties to the glucoside phosphates were also formed from 8-hydroxyquinoline, 1-naphthol and 4-methylumbelliferone in Tenebrio larvae ...

Safety Assessment of Decyl Glucoside and Other Alkyl Glucosides as Used in Cosmetics

International Journal of Toxicology, 2013
The Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Expert Panel assessed the safety of 19 alkyl glucosides as used in cosmetics and concluded that these ingredients are safe in the present practices of use and concentration when formulated to be nonirritating. Most of these ingredients function as surfactants in cosmetics, but some have additional functions as skin-

Aromatic compound glucosides, alkyl glucoside and glucide from the fruit of anise

Phytochemistry, 2003
From the polar portion of the methanolic extract of the fruit of anise (Pimpinella anisum L.), which has been used as a spice and medicine since antiquity, four aromatic compound glucosides, an alkyl glucoside and a glucide were isolated together with 24 known compounds. The structures of the new compounds were clarified as (E)-3-hydroxyanethole beta-D-

Glucosides with cyclic diarylpolynoid as novel C-aryl glucoside SGLT2 inhibitors

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2011
Novel C-aryl glucoside SGLT2 inhibitors containing cyclic diarylpolynoid motif were designed and synthesized for biological evaluation. Alkylzinc bromides have been efficiently prepared by the direct insertion of zinc metal into alkyl bromides. The organozinc reagents underwent smooth Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions.

Steryl glucoside and acyl glucoside biosynthesis in maturing pea seeds

Phytochemistry, 1978
Abstract Sterol glucosyltransferase activity was found in a particulate fraction of pea seeds. The activity was stimulated by Ca2+ and Mg2+ and inhibited by Zn2+, Cu2+, Hg2+, EDTA and EGTA. Iodoacetamide was without effect but p-chloromercuribenzoate completely inhibited the enzyme.
