Unveiling Lactylation: A Novel Frontier in Cancer Stemness and Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tumor metabolism and epigenetic regulation are intrinsically linked. This review highlights lactylation as a pivotal bridge connecting these processes, acting as an active epigenetic effector in cancer stemness. We delineate how lactylation orchestrates the cancer stem cell landscape and evaluate its regulatory networks.

Engineering Approaches to Modify Immunomodulatory Functions of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs): Tissue Regeneration and Clinical Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) show promise for treating immune‐related disorders through immunomodulation and tissue regeneration. This review gives a brief overview of current clinical approval of MSC therapies. It also discussed how bioengineering, including genetic modification, biomaterial delivery, extracellular vesicles, and iPSC‐derived MSCs,

Chiral Nanoparticles Suppress Inflammatory Infiltration to Promote Extracellular Matrix Remodeling for Ectopia Lentis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
L‐cysteine‐configured chiral polyurethane nanoparticles suppress ocular inflammation and reduce extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation in ectopia lentis by regulating macrophages polarization and inhibiting nuclear factor kappa B signaling pathway. By promoting zonular fiber‐associated protein restoration and tissue repair, this minimally invasive ...

GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

N-acetylcysteine: pharmacokinetic parameters and the effect on the concentration of endogenous aminothiols

open access: yesФармакокинетика и Фармакодинамика, 2016
We studied the pharmacokinetic parameters of N-acetylcysteine at a single oral and intravenous administration of healthy volunteers. Elimination half-life (t1/2) within 2 hours and the maximum concentration in blood (Cmax) after 1 hour after ...

Dysfunctional Chondroitin 4-O-Sulfotransferase-1 Impairs Cellular Redox State and Promotes Tau Aggregation

open access: yesCells
Chondroitin sulfate (CS) chains on the cell surface are sulfated in various patterns, and this structure is the basis of CS function. We aimed to investigate the role of chondroitin 4-O-sulfotransferase-1 (C4ST-1), the enzyme responsible for the 4 ...

Integrative Multi‐Omics Analysis Reveals a Mitochondrial–Immune Axis Associated With Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Response in High‐Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrative multi‐omics analysis delineates a mitochondrial–immune axis governing neoadjuvant chemotherapy response in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer. Immune‐active tumors exhibit enhanced B‐cell infiltration and favorable sensitivity, whereas metabolically rewired tumors display oxidative phosphorylation dependency and resistance.

POPC Enhances Both the Maturation of Bovine Oocytes and the Subsequent Development and Quality of Embryos

open access: yesAnimals
In vitro maturation (IVM) of oocytes is a pivotal step in assisted reproductive technologies for livestock. However, oxidative stress (OS) and mitochondrial dysfunction during in vitro culture often lead to oocyte aging, thereby limiting the efficiency ...

ROS Self‐Supply Nanoplatform Based on Fenton Catalyst for Chemodynamic and Immunotherapy: Reprogramming Cold Tumor Into Hot Tumor in Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional HA‐conjugated nanoplatform (HA‐PGMC) integrates CuO2, glucose oxidase, and mil‐100 to enable cascade catalytic ROS generation in tumor microenvironments. This self‐supplying ROS strategy induces immunogenic cell death, reprograms “cold” tumors into “hot” ones, and synergizes with PD‐L1 blockade, achieving potent chemodynamic ...

Recent advances in understanding oxidative stress in sepsis: pathogenic roles and antioxidant therapeutic prospects - a narrative review

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology
Sepsis remains a major global health challenge, exerting a particularly severe toll in low- and middle-income countries. Despite advances in antimicrobial and supportive care, sepsis continues to defy effective control due to its complex pathophysiology ...
