A Spatial Clustering Approach of Economic Activities: An Application to the Agribusiness Sector in Brazil's Midwest Region

open access: yesGeographical Analysis, Volume 58, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The spatial distribution of economic activities is central to regional economics. However, empirical tools for comparing industries based on the similarity of their spatial distributions remain limited. Traditional cluster analysis typically ignores geographical distance and connectivity, while spatial methods focus on clustering places rather

Inhibition of Calcium‐Sensing Receptor Suppresses Malignant Behaviours of Human Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 19, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) continues to pose significant worldwide health burdens due to restricted treatment alternatives and unfavourable prognosis. This investigation reveals the pivotal involvement of calcium‐sensing receptor (CaSR) in HCC advancement and its potential as a promising therapeutic target. Through pharmacological blockade

A Review of Nonsteroidal Anti‐Inflammatory Drugs for Food‐Producing Animals With a Focus on Potential Applications for Farmed Finfish

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, Volume 49, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT In finfish aquaculture, there are several inflammatory diseases impacting productivity and animal welfare, however there are limited options available to veterinarians to treat inflammation and pain in fish. Nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are widely used in terrestrial animals raised for human consumption to treat a range of ...

Analysis of the Provision of Plant‐Based, Vegetarian and Omnivorous Meals in UK Care Homes for Older People

open access: yesJournal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Volume 39, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction With concerns growing around the impact of western diets on human and planetary health, a global transition is required towards primarily plant‐based diets. Although this subject has been the focus of increased research, the potential for meat and dairy reductions in care home settings has not been explored.

Role of the tomato MARS1/ROUGH gene encoding a LYSINE‐SPECIFIC HISTONE DEMETHYLASE 1 in adventitious root and fruit skin formation

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, Volume 68, Issue 10, Page 3644-3669, October 2026.
The tomato mars1/rough mutant displays enhanced root regeneration and rough fruits due to ectopic cell proliferation. The causal gene encodes a lysine‐specific histone demethylase that normally maintains gene silencing. Its loss alters histone methylation, upregulating several genes, including those B‐type cyclins involved in tissue‐specific cellular ...

Ethanolamine plasmalogens increase luteinising hormone pulsatility and are associated with GPR61 expression in bovine gonadotrophin‐releasing hormone neurons

open access: yesJournal of Neuroendocrinology, Volume 38, Issue 10, October 2026.
Ethanolamine plasmalogens increased LH pulse frequency. GPR61 was expressed in GnRH neurons and gonadotrophs, suggesting a role in neuroendocrine regulation. Ethanolamine plasmalogens (EPls), but not choline plasmalogens (CPls), may act via GPR61 expressed in GnRH neurons in the preoptic area and in anterior pituitary gonadotrophs.

Feeding Young Children in Food Insecure Environments: A Photovoice Study in Kenya's Drylands

open access: yesMaternal &Child Nutrition, Volume 22, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Child wasting remains a global public health challenge, with persistently high levels in dryland regions such as Turkana and Samburu Counties in Kenya. Food scarcity is linked to spikes in wasting prevalence in these counties, but little is known about women's lived experiences of food insecurity and how they perceive its relationship to child
