The story of Paracoccidiodes gp43. [PDF]
This review is about Dr. Luiz Rodolpho Raja Gabaglia Travassos' scientific contributions to paracoccidioidomycosis as told by myself, Rosana Puccia, but co-written with Dr. Carlos P. Taborda, my younger scientific brother, collaborator, and dear friend. Dr.
Puccia R, Taborda CP.

Paracoccidioides Species Circulating in the Endemic Area of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Updates into Their Genetic Diversity [PDF]
Paracoccidiodomycosis (PCM) is the most important systemic mycosis in Brazil, and is usually associated with rural work. PCM is caused by inhalation of infective propagules of thermodimorphic fungi from the genus Paracoccidioides.

Influence of the Paracoccidioides brasiliensis 14-3-3 and gp43 proteins on the induction of apoptosis in A549 epithelial cells [PDF]
The fungal strain Paracoccidioides brasiliensis remains viable inside of epithelial cells and can induce apoptosis in this population. However, until now, the molecules that participate in this process remained unknown.

Paracoccidioides brasiliensis-gp43 used as paracoccidioidin [PDF]
A purified glycoprotein of 43,000 daltons from Paracoccidioides brasiliensis (gp43) was tested as paracoccidioidin in delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH) tests in both experimental animals (guinea pig and mice) and patients with paracoccidioidomycosis (PCM). The gp43 paracoccidioidin was compared with the traditional Fava Netto antigen (AgFN).

Molecular hydrogen treatment can significantly improve the gut microbiota and metabolites and reduce the inflammatory reaction and cognitive dysfunction after SAE. This study provides a basis for the pathogenesis and treatment of SAE. Abstract Introduction In our experiments, male wild‐type mice were randomly divided into four groups: the sham, SAE ...

Monitoring gp43 Antigenemia in Paracoccidioidomycosis Patients during Therapy [PDF]
ABSTRACT Paracoccidioidomycosis (PCM) is a systemic fungal disease that is particularly important among individuals living and working in rural areas of endemicity in Latin America. Detection of anti- Paracoccidioides brasiliensis antibodies is of limited value due to false-negative results. Detection of

GP43 A case of van der woude syndrome [PDF]
Vander Woude syndrome (VWS) is an autosomal dominant congenital syndrome characterised by a cleft lip or palate and distinctive pits of lower lips. The degree to which individuals carrying the gene are affected widely varies within families. Introduction VWS comprises of cleft lip or palate and pits in lower lips.

Gene expression of Paracoccidioides virulence factors after interaction with macrophages and fibroblasts [PDF]
BACKGROUND Paracoccidioidomycosis (PCM) is a systemic mycosis with high prevalence in Latin America that is caused by thermodimorphic fungal species of the Paracoccidioides genus.

Multiepitope peptide vaccine has some advantages over traditional recombinant protein vaccine due to its easy and fast production and possible inclusion of multiple protective epitopes of pathogens. However, it is usually poorly immunogenic and needs to conjugate to a large carrier protein.

Immunity and hypersensitivity to gp43 antigen in susceptible and resistant mice infected withParacoccidioides brasiliensis [PDF]
Pathogenic mechanisms underlying paracoccidioidomycosis are still poorly understood. A well-established murine model of resistance (mouse lineage A/Sn) and susceptibility (lineage B10.A) to P. brasiliensis pulmonary infection was here employed to compare immune response to gp43, the major antigenic component of the fungus.
