Sustainable Productivity Growth in Agriculture: The Role of Shifts in R&D Investments and Technology
ABSTRACT The objective of the paper is to evaluate the long‐term prospects of sustainable productivity growth linked to plausible assumptions on public agricultural R&D investments as the key productivity driver. Second, it investigates the role of changing R&D focus from yield maximization to input saving technologies (fertilizers and pesticides). The

Protein hydrolysates in cell culture: Toward multi‐omics characterization
While protein hydrolysates are widely used in cell culture applications, they remain undefined and variable products. Multi‐omic characterization evaluating composition and function can transition hydrolysates toward semi‐defined media components.

Optimal model‐based design of experiments for parameter precision: Supercritical extraction case
Abstract This study investigates the process of chamomile oil extraction from flowers. A parameter‐distributed model consisting of a set of partial differential equations is used to describe the governing mass transfer phenomena in a cylindrical packed bed with solid chamomile particles under supercritical conditions using carbon dioxide as a solvent ...

Evaluation of tobacco seed oil as a sustainable ingredient in oil-in-water (O/W) emulsion creams
Tobacco seeds, which are abundant and rich in oil, offer a sustainable alternative for cosmetic applications due to their fatty acid profile, which is similar to grape seed oil. This study compares tobacco seed oil (Krumovgrad 58 variety, Bulgaria) with
