Assessment of Pre- and Pro-haptens Using Nonanimal Test Methods for Skin Sensitization
Because of ethical and regulatory reasons, several nonanimal test methods to assess the skin sensitization potential of chemicals have been developed and validated. In contrast to in vivo methods, they lack or provide limited metabolic capacity.

We previously found that the immune response to haptens is positively correlated with molecular hydrophobicity. The antibodies used in immunoassays for capsaicinoids (CPCs) in waste oil suffer from low affinity and loose recognition to structural ...

This study mimics clinical patch testing for the diagnosis of allergic contact dermatitis, by application of patch test preparations of fragrance terpenes to ex vivo human skin samples. The study investigates the penetration of linalool hydroperoxide and limonene hydroperoxide in skin, alongside an analysis of the lipid‐modifying effects of the patch ...

Interactions between a monoclonal, DNP-specific IgE molecules (hybridoma A2) and divalent DNP-haptens in solution cause aggregation of the former predominantly into closed rings of two IgE and two divalent haptens (Schweitzer-Stenner, R., A.

Finn Chamber AQUA (FCA) detects significantly higher contact allergy prevalences to linalool hydroperoxides (7.0% vs. 5.1% FC) and limonene hydroperoxides (7.8% vs. 3.0% FC, 3.8% IQ) than Finn Chamber (FC) or IQ Ultra (IQ) in 629 dermatitis patients; chamber choice is therefore crucial for diagnostics.

ABSTRACT The present guideline updates the initial ESCD patch testing guideline, summarizing all aspects of patch testing for the diagnosis of contact allergy in patients suspected of suffering, or having been suffering, from allergic contact dermatitis or other delayed‐type hypersensitivity skin and mucosal conditions. Sections with brief descriptions

Two 2-aminophosphonate haptens derived from methyl α-d-glucopyranoside were synthesized to mimic the transition-state of a transesterification reaction between methyl α-d-glucopyranoside and 4-nitrophenylester of tert-BOC-β-alanine.
