Analysis of the Component-Based Reliability in Computer Networks
Performance in terms of reliability of computer networks motivates this paper. Limit theorems on the extreme queue length and extreme virtual waiting time in open queueing networks in heavy traffic are derived and applied to a reliability model for ...

On Priority Queues in Heavy Traffic
Summary For single-server, first-come-first-served queues, specified completely by the sequences of interarrival times and service times, if these sequences are stationary and if (in some sense) there is not too much dependence within or between them, it has been shown by Kingman (1962) that the waiting-time distribution is, in heavy ...

Anti‐Slip Material‐Based Strategies and Approaches
This review highlights the principle mechanisms of slipping at the microscale, linking contact mechanics with a friction behavior model for surface interfaces. Main strategies to develop anti‐slip properties to the surfaces are discussed alongside standardized testing approaches.

HEAVY TRAFFIC ANALYSIS IN QUEUEING SYSTEMS
The traffic intensity is defined in the classical theory of queueing systems as the ratio of the expected service time and the expected interarrival time and is an important measure of the system performance.

The study shows that noncardiac surgical inflammation rapidly disrupts HDL function and cholesterol efflux in mice and human patients. Impaired reverse cholesterol transport after surgery drives rapid lipid accumulation, NETosis, and apoptosis within atherosclerotic plaques.

LOGISTICS AND EFFICIENCY OF HEAVY TRAFFIC
Background. The article is devoted to the study of the organization of the heavyweight movement. The relevance of the topic is related to the steady increase in the average weight of freight trains operating on heavily loaded routes of Russian railways ...

By integrating data from in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models, our research identifies the MARV glycoprotein as a remarkable hemorrhagic factor, filling a major gap in this important field. It also provides practical experimental tools for the basic research on viral pathogenesis and applied research aimed at antiviral intervention for hemorrhagic ...

A stochastic network with mobile users in heavy traffic
We consider a stochastic network with mobile users in a heavy-traffic regime. We derive the scaling limit of the multi-dimensional queue length process and prove a form of spatial state space collapse.

Multiple-input heavy-traffic real-time queues
Customers with random service times and random due dates from \(K\) renewal streams arrive at their own buffer at a single server. The server serves the buffers which are nonempty according to a generalized processor sharing discipline (head-of-the-line with weights). The buffers are either FIFO or EDF (earliest deadline first).
