Tissue-specific expression of the gene encoding hepatocyte nuclear factor 1 may involve hepatocyte nuclear factor 4. [PDF]

open access: yesGenes & Development, 1991
Hepatocyte nuclear factor 1 (HNF-1) is a transcriptional regulatory protein possibly involved in the activation of many liver-specifically expressed genes. HNF-1 mRNA is restricted to a small number of tissues, suggesting that the HNF-1 gene itself is regulated at the transcriptional level. We have isolated and characterized the promoter region of this

Long Noncoding RNAs Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor 4A Antisense RNA 1 and Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor 1A Antisense RNA 1 Are Involved in Ritonavir-Induced Cytotoxicity in Hepatoma Cells [PDF]

open access: yesDrug Metabolism and Disposition, 2022
Ritonavir (RTV), a pharmacoenhancer used in anti-HIV regimens, can induce liver damage. RTV is primarily metabolized by cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) in the liver. HNF4A antisense RNA 1 (HNF4A-AS1) and HNF1A antisense RNA 1 (HNF1A-AS1) are long noncoding RNAs that regulate the expression of pregnane X receptor (PXR) and CYP3A4.

Establishment of PLAFMCi005-A induced pluripotent stem cells derived from PBMC from a patient with renal cysts and diabetes syndrome

open access: yesStem Cell Research, 2021
Renal cysts and diabetes syndrome (RCAD) is caused by gene mutations in hepatocyte nuclear factor 1-β (HNF1B), but the underlying molecular mechanism is still unclear.

Microenvironment and tumor cells: two targets for new molecular therapies of hepatocellular carcinoma. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), is one of the most frequent human cancer and is characterized by a high mortality rate. The aggressiveness appears strictly related to the liver pathological background on which cancer develops.

Mutations in transcription factor as rare causes of diabetes in pregnancy

open access: yesСахарный диабет, 2019
MODY1 and MODY3 represent rare causes of diabetes in pregnancy. Establishing a molecular diagnosis of MODY1 or MODY3 during pregnancy may be important for minimizing risk of perinatal complications and for improving glycemic control after pregnancy.

Transcriptomic analysis of hepatocytes reveals the association between ubiquitin-specific peptidase 1 and yes-associated protein 1 during liver regeneration

open access: yesRegenerative Therapy, 2023
Objectives: The liver has an excellent ability to regenerate, and disrupted liver regeneration after various injuries leads to an unfavorable prognosis for patients.

Human hepatocyte nuclear factor-1β (HNF1B) 1968A/G polymorphism [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Human Genetics, 2000
We found a novel A-->G change at nucleotide 1968 within the 3'-untranslated region of the HNF1B gene encoding the hepatocyte nuclear factor-1 beta. The HNF1B 1968A/G polymorphism could be detected by digestion with endonuclease MspI. The frequency of the HNF1B 1968G allele was 0.060 in Caucasians and 0.129 in Canadian Oji-Cree.

A Novel HNF4A Mutation Causing Three Phenotypic Forms of Glucose Dysregulation in a Family

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics, 2020
Maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY) classically describes dominantly inherited forms of monogenic diabetes diagnosed before 25 years of age due to pancreatic β-cell dysfunction.
