Activation of p53 After Irradiation Impairs the Regenerative Capacity of the Mouse Liver

open access: yesHepatology Communications, 2022
Radiation therapy is one of the treatment methods for hepatocellular carcinoma. However, radiation tolerance of the liver is low, and the detailed effect of radiation on liver regeneration has not been clarified.

The regulatory landscape of retinoblastoma: a pathway analysis perspective

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2022
Retinoblastoma (Rb) is a rare intraocular tumour in early childhood, with an approximate incidence of 1 in 18 000 live births. Experimental studies for Rb are complex due to the challenges associated with obtaining a normal retina to contrast with ...

TGFβ impairs HNF1α functional activity in Epithelial-to-Mesenchymal Transition interfering with the recruitment of CBP/p300 acetyltransferases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The cytokine transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) plays a crucial role in the induction of both epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) program and fibro-cirrhotic process in the liver, where it contributes also to organ inflammation following several ...

Scalar and vector form factors of the in-medium nucleon [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Lett. B575 (2003) 4-10, 2003
Using the quark-meson coupling model, we calculate the form factors at sigma- and omega-nucleon strong-interaction vertices in nuclear matter. The Peierls-Yoccoz projection technique is used to take account of center of mass and recoil corrections. We also apply the Lorentz contraction to the internal quark wave function.

Malignant Transformation of an HNF1a-Inactivated Hepatocellular Adenoma to Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesCase Reports in Gastroenterology, 2020
Hepatocellular adenomas (HCA) are rare benign tumors of the liver, occurring predominantly in females using oral contraceptives. Our case describes a 66-year-old woman presenting with a palpable mass in her upper abdomen.

Mutations in the genes encoding the transcription factors hepatocyte nuclear factor 1 alpha (HNF1A) and 4 alpha (HNF4A) in maturity‐onset diabetes of the young

open access: yesHuman Mutation, 2006
Maturity‐onset diabetes of the young (MODY) is a monogenic form of diabetes mellitus characterized by autosomal dominant inheritance, early age of onset (often

The effect of estrogen and tamoxifen on hepatocyte proliferation in Vivo and in Vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
We have previously shown that changes in estrogen‐hepatocyte interaction occur during liver regeneration. Following 70% hepatectomy, estrogen levels in the blood were elevated, the number of estrogen receptors in the liver was increased and there was an ...

Complex interplay between the lipin 1 and the hepatocyte nuclear factor 4 α (HNF4α) pathways to regulate liver lipid metabolism. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Lipin 1 is a bifunctional protein that serves as a metabolic enzyme in the triglyceride synthesis pathway and regulates gene expression through direct protein-protein interactions with DNA-bound transcription factors in liver. Herein, we demonstrate that

Hepatocyte nuclear factor-1 alpha, GATA-4, and caudal related homeodomain protein Cdx2 interact functionally to modulate intestinal gene transcription. Implication for the developmental regulation of the sucrase-isomaltase gene.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2002
Sucrase-isomaltase (SI), an intestine-specific gene, is induced in the differentiated small intestinal villous epithelium during the suckling-weaning transition in mice.

An epistatic mini-circuitry between the transcription factors Snail and HNF4a controls liver stem cell and hepatocyte features exhorting opposite regulation on stemness-inhibiting microRNAs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Preservation of the epithelial state involves the stable repression of EMT program while maintenance of the stem compartment requires the inhibition of differentiation processes.
