Hierarchical Optimization of Landing Performance for Lander with Adaptive Landing Gear

open access: yesChinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2019
A parameterized dynamics analysis model of legged lander with adaptive landing gear was established. Based on the analysis model, the landing performances under various landing conditions were analyzed by the optimized Latin hypercube experimental design

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Globalization, Chinese-Culture and the Expansion of Higher Education System in Taiwan

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chinese Education, 2013
The global market gives nation-states no choice but to be subject to its rules. As a result, they need to modify themselves to meet its requirements in order to gain access to the considerable amount of capitalist profit available.

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Improved formulations for higher order absorbingboundary conditions

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1997
New formulations for higher order ABCs are introduced. Third and fourth order ABCs are reduced to first and second order derivatives with each one having one additional integral term. Considerable reductions in computer storage and computational time are achieved.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Geometric Stability Conditions for Higher Order Difference Equations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1998
The author considers the higher order autonomous difference equation \[ x_n= f(x_{n-1}, \dots, x_{n-m}),\;n=1,2,3, \dots \tag{1} \] where the order \(m\) is a fixed positive integer larger than 1. Under some suitable conditions on \(f\) the author discusses the asymptotic stability, the exponential stability relative to the invariant sets, and the ...

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...
