European Society of Contact Dermatitis Guideline for Diagnostic Patch Testing—Recommendations on Best Practice (Update 2026)

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The present guideline updates the initial ESCD patch testing guideline, summarizing all aspects of patch testing for the diagnosis of contact allergy in patients suspected of suffering, or having been suffering, from allergic contact dermatitis or other delayed‐type hypersensitivity skin and mucosal conditions. Sections with brief descriptions

HIV Tat-Stimulated Microglial Extracellular Vesicles Are Enriched for Ferroptosis Mediators: Role of Dysregulated Autophagy. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Extracell Biol
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) serve as conduits for intercellular communication, under both physiological and pathological contexts. During disease pathogenesis, microglia‐derived EVs (MEVs) play a key role in transferring pathological cargo to the recipient cells, thereby modulating their phenotype and function.

The Role of SAMHD1 in Viral Resistance and Transduction Efficiency Challenges in Pediatric Hematological Malignancies: Mechanistic Insights and Clinical Perspectives

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
SAMHD1 regulates intracellular dNTP pools, influencing lentiviral transduction, gene therapy efficiency, and disease progression in pediatric hematological malignancies. Integrated bioinformatics and targeted strategies, including CRISPR and pharmacological inhibition, highlight its therapeutic potential.

Behind the scenes: how the EMILIN/Multimerin family shapes the cancer landscape

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
The EMILIN/Multimerin family members regulate key hallmarks of cancer—including apoptosis, angiogenesis, metastasis, and tumor microenvironment remodeling. As indicated, their function in immune evasion, drug resistance, and metabolic reprogramming remains largely unexplored.

Resistance‐exercise‐induced stress intervenes in TGF‐β signaling by cooperatively downregulating nuclear αB‐crystallin and SMAD4 in human skeletal muscle fibers

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Alpha‐crystallin B chain (CRYAB) has been reported to stabilize mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 4 (SMAD4) in transforming growth factor‐β (TGF‐β) signaling, enabling target gene transcription. We show nuclear CRYAB–SMAD4 interaction for the first time in human skeletal muscle fibers and its regulation by exercise.

Fusion inhibitors drugs: a strategy to fight HIV replication

open access: yes, 2005
Atualmente, o tratamento no combate ao vírus HIV é baseado na inibição das enzimas necessárias à sua replicação nas células infectadas. Comumente, uma combinação de medicamentos, capazes de inibir as enzimas transcriptase reversa e protease é empregada.

Beyond Standard Half‐Life: Real‐world Pharmacokinetics of Efanesoctocog Alfa in a Single Centre

open access: yesHaemophilia, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Efanesoctocog alfa (EFA) is an ultra–extended half‐life factor VIII (FVIII) developed to address limitations of conventional prophylaxis in haemophilia A. Although the XTEND trials reported low interindividual pharmacokinetic (PK) variability, real‐world data remain important to better characterize PK profiles across patient ...

Italian Patients Journey for Gene Therapy in Haemophilia A

open access: yesHaemophilia, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Gene therapy (GT) provides sustained FVIII levels without repeated infusions in Hemophilia A (HA) patients thus overcoming a major limitation of replacement therapy. However, issues remain e.g., patient selection criteria, duration and variability of transgene expression, quality of life and long‐term safety.
