ZBTB21 Is a Dual Suppressor of Pyroptosis and MHC‐I Antigen Presentation That Promotes Tumor Immune Evasion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ZBTB21 is a transcription factor that epigenetically suppresses pyroptosis and MHC‐I antigen presentation, enabling tumor immune evasion. Genetic ablation of ZBTB21 activates pyroptotic cell death and enhances antigen presentation, recruiting CD8+ T cells to overcome immune checkpoint blockade resistance.

Towards an HLA Run-time Infrastructure with Hard Real-time Capabilities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Our work takes place in the context of the HLA standard and its application in real-time systems context. The HLA standard is inadequate for taking into consideration the different constraints involved in real-time computer systems.

T Cell Exhaustion in Cancer Immunotherapy: Heterogeneity, Mechanisms, and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
T cell exhaustion limits immunotherapy efficacy. This article delineates its progression from stem‐like to terminally exhausted states, governed by persistent antigen, transcription factors, epigenetics, and metabolism. It maps the exhaustion landscape in the TME and proposes integrated reversal strategies, providing a translational roadmap to overcome

Multi‐Scale Mapping of Gene Expression from Whole‐slide Images for Identifying Phenotype‐Associated Subpopulations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BiSCALE: A pathology‐driven deep learning framework for multi‐scale gene expression prediction from whole‐slide images. It accurately infers bulk and near‐cellular spot‐level expression, links predictions to clinical phenotypes, identifies disease‐associated niches, and enables applications in risk stratification and cell‐identity annotation, providing

Dual HLA B*42 and B*81-reactive T cell receptors recognize more diverse HIV-1 Gag escape variants

open access: yes, 2018
Closely related HLA alleles presenting similar HIV-1 epitopes can be associated with variable clinical outcome. Here the authors report their findings on CD8+ T cell responses to the HIV-1 Gag-p24 TL9 immunodominant epitope in the context of closely ...

Selective Targeting of Immune Checkpoints HLA‐G and CD47 Using Novel Dual Signaling Protein DSP216 Promotes Innate Anticancer Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The inhibitory immune checkpoints HLA‐G and CD47 are expressed on certain tumor types and inhibit immune cells in the tumor microenvironment. DSP216 binds specifically to cancer cells expressing both HLA‐G and CD47, and blocks their inhibitory signaling.
