This study tests whether early‐life maternal association buffers offspring from the effects of prenatal stress in a facultatively social lizard. Despite clear effects of maternal glucocorticoids on growth and social behaviour, social associations did not mitigate these effects, revealing limits to social buffering in this species.

Quantifying how individuals differ as their environment changes around them is crucial to predict population responses to climate change. By incorporating personality, physiology and life‐history the authors show that while environmental change is likely to impact the whole population equally, when individuals are most impacted will vary across the ...

Abstract Background Blood pressure is a crucial risk factor for hemodialysis patients, but the specific impact of weather factors, particularly barometric pressure, on blood pressure remains unclear. This study aims to examine the relationship between barometric pressure and blood pressure in hemodialysis patients. Methods We conducted a single‐center,

18 days of predator odor exposure altered gut microbiota, increased anxiety‐like behaviors, and elevated hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis activity in Brandt's voles, with males showing behavioral habituation and females remaining sensitive. Cecal microbiota transplantation experiments confirmed that only female recipients of microbiota from predator‐
