ABSTRACT Background Merkel Cell Carcinoma (MCC) is a rare, aggressive neuroendocrine and epithelial skin cancer. Somatostatin analogues, such as lanreotide, have shown efficacy in managing other neuroendocrine tumors. Retrospective studies suggest that lanreotide may induce partial response or disease stabilization in patients with advanced MCC.

Gene Therapy for Metastatic Castration‐Resistant Prostate Cancer Using the JC Polyomavirus (JCPyV) Virus‐Like Particles as a Gene Delivery Vector

A fluorescence molecular tomography–based mouse model enabled real‐time detection of metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer. After systemic metastasis was established, PSA promoter–driven JCPyV virus‐like particles significantly suppressed metastatic tumor growth, demonstrating therapeutic efficacy when treatment was initiated after metastasis.
