Long non-coding RNA SENCR is a positive regulator of ETV2 [PDF]
Department of Biological SciencesAlthough long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have emerged as novel regulator of cell fate and gene expression, the regulation of vascular specific transcription factor by lncRNA in generation of induced endothelial cells ...

Isolation of equine endothelial cells and life cell angiogenesis assay [PDF]
Arterial or venous thromboses are frequent clinical complications with the risk of fatal progression. Recent studies suggest the disruption of angiogenesis in the course of thrombus resolution as the underlying pathomechanism.

Rnd3 as a Novel Target to Ameliorate Microvascular Leakage
BackgroundMicrovascular leakage of plasma proteins is a hallmark of inflammation that leads to tissue dysfunction. There are no current therapeutic strategies to reduce microvascular permeability.

Inhibitor of Apoptosis Proteins as Novel Targets in Inflammatory Processes [PDF]
Objective: Inhibitor of apoptosis proteins (IAPs), such as X-linked or cellular IAP 1/2 (XIAP, cIAP1/2), are important regulators of apoptosis. IAP antagonists are currently under clinical investigation as anticancer agents.

Zika Virus Induces Autophagy in Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells [PDF]
Autophagy is a common strategy for cell protection; however, some viruses can in turn adopt cellular autophagy to promote viral replication. Zika virus (ZIKV) is the pathogen that causes Zika viral disease, and it is a mosquito-borne virus. However, its pathogenesis, especially the interaction between ZIKV and target cells during the early stages of ...

Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Temporal studies into attachment, VE-cadherin perturbation, and paracellular migration of human umbilical mesenchymal stem cells across umbilical vein endothelial monolayers [PDF]
Mesenchymal stem cells from Wharton’s jelly of human umbilical cords (WJ-MSC) are a valuable alternate source of stem cells. Their role in situ and whether they can interact and cross intact endothelial monolayers requires elucidation.

Micro‐injection laser‐assisted bioprinting enables ultrafast and precise patterning of small endothelial cell spheroids by injecting a highly concentrated single‐cell suspension into GelMA/ColMA hydrogels. In co‐culture with fibroblasts, controlled pre‐vasculogenic network formation is obtained at microscale resolution.
