SSR analysis of the heterosis in the two grouper hybrids
The marine grouper species are considered high value food fish in Southeast Asia.Aimed to get some new types of grouper,we have successfully cross-bred three species of grouper. The hybrid grouper was produced by fertilising the eggs of the orange-spotted grouper(Epinephelus coioides),tiger grouper(Epinephelus lanceolatus)with the sperm of the giant ...

The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Integration of technologies for understanding the functional relationship between reef habitat and fish growth and production [PDF]
Functional linkage between reef habitat quality and fish growth and production has remained elusive. Most current research is focused on correlative relationships between a general habitat type and presence/absence of a species, an index of species ...

This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Distribution and sighting frequency of reef fishes in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary [PDF]
This study analyzed species richness, distribution, and sighting frequency of selected reef fishes to describe species assemblage composition, abundance, and spatial distribution patterns among sites and regions (Upper Keys, Middle Keys, Lower Keys, and ...

The complete mitochondrial genome of the hybrid grouper Epinehelus_moara ♀ × Epinephelus_lanceolatus ♂ with phylogenetic consideration [PDF]
The complete mitochondrial genome of the hybrid grouper Epinehelus moara ♀ × Epinephelus lanceolatus ♂ is presented in this study. The mitochondrial genome is 16,418 bp long and consists of 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes and a control region. The gene order and composition of the hybrid grouper mitochondrial genome were similar to

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Formation of diploid and triploid hybrid groupers (hybridization of Epinephelus coioides ♀ × Epinephelus lanceolatus ♂) and their 5S gene analysis [PDF]
Interspecies hybridization is widely used to achieve heterosis or hybrid vigor, which has been observed and harnessed by breeders for centuries. Natural allopolyploid hybrids generally exhibit more superior heterosis than both the diploid progenies and their parental species.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.
