Identification of MYB Transcription Factor, a Regulator Related to Hydrolysable Tannin Synthesis in Canarium album L., and Functional Analysis of CaMYBR04

open access: yesPlants
Hydrolysed tannins (HTs) are polyphenols, which are related to the astringency, flavour, colour, stability, medicinal value and other characteristics of many fruits and vegetables.

Quantification of the levels of tannins and total phenols and evaluation of the antioxidant activity of fruits of pepper tree

open access: yesVértices, 2011
The fruits of pepper tree (Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi) are widely used in the world cooking and its consumption has been encouraged since the late 80’s due to the presence of phenolic substances. Therefore, this study quantified the levels of tannins

Response of Fecal Bacteria and Fungi to Tannin‐Rich Diets in Sika Deer (Cervus nippon): Evidence from Both Feeding Experiments and Field Investigations

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Feeding with tannin‐rich diets altered the fecal microbial composition and increased the relative abundance of tannin‐degrading microbes. We hypothesize that fecal bacteria and fungi may play important roles in helping herbivores adapt to tannin‐rich diets but respond to different tannin concentrations varies.

Review of Tannins Currently Used in the Leather Industry. Part 1: Hydrolysable Tannins

open access: yes
Tannins are water-soluble phenolic substances obtained from plants by various extraction methods. Tannins can be found in almost every plant. However, tannin content varies from plant to plant. Even different parts of the same plant may contain different amounts of tannin.

Use of Soy Flour-Tannin Adhesive for Particleboard (Dry Condition) [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Wood and Paper Industries, 2017
In this research soy flour- tannin adhesives were used in particleboard preparation, successfully. Tow type of different tannins Mimosa (as condensed tannin) and Chestnut (as hydrolysable tannins) were used for soy resin modification.

Integrated Metabolomics and Selection Signal Analysis Provide Insights Into the Selection for Flavonol Biosynthesis Associated With Lettuce Quality Improvement

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Lettuce is a critical leafy vegetable consumed worldwide and is a substantial dietary source of health‐promoting compounds. Exploring changes in metabolism during lettuce domestication under artificial selection conditions is important to facilitate further breeding and cultivation for quality improvement.

Engineered surface strategies to manage dental implant‐related infections

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract When exposed to the oral environment, dental implants, like natural surfaces, become substrates for microbial adhesion and accumulation, often leading to implant‐related infections—one of the main causes of implant failure. These failures impose significant costs on patients, clinicians, and healthcare systems.
