Anti-inflammatory effects of hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2007NF-kappaB family of transcription factors are involved in numerous cellular processes, including differentiation, proliferation, and inflammation. It was reported that hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives (HADs) are inhibitors of NF-kappaB activation. Rice bran oil contains a lot of phytosteryl ferulates, one of HADs.

Determination of hydroxycinnamic acids present in Rhododendron species
Phytochemistry, 2017Hydroxycinnamates including free hydroxycinnamic acids and their chlorogenic acid derivatives and glycosides have been profiled in leaf extracts of 98 Rhododendron species using LC-MS techniques. In total, 69 hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives were identified in the leaves of 98 Rhododendron species.

The effects of hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives on adiponectin secretion
Phytomedicine, 2009Adiponectin is positively correlated with insulin sensitivity. Hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives (HADs), observed ubiquitously in plants, have some physiological functions. In this study, we investigated the effect of HADs on serum adiponectin concentrations in mice and on adiponectin secretion of 3T3-L1 adipocytes.

Hydroxycinnamic acids and human health: recent advances
Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 2019AbstractThere is an urgent need to improve human diet globally. Compelling evidence gathered over the past several decades suggests that a suboptimal diet is associated with many chronic diseases and may be responsible for more deaths than any other risks worldwide.

Synthesis and Antioxidant Activity of Hydroxycinnamic Acid Xylan Esters
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2010Naturally occurring hydroxycinnamic acids, such as ferulic and sinapic acids, are known to possess antioxidant activity. In this study, ferulic acid and sinapic acid were covalently attached to oat spelt arabinoxylan and birch wood glucuronoxylan by esterification in a two-step feasible synthesis to generate modified xylans with various degrees of ...

ANODIC OXIDATION OF 4-HYDROXYCINNAMIC ACIDS
Chemistry Letters, 1979Abstract Anodic oxidation of 4-hydroxycinnamic acids was carried out at a controlled potential vs. SCE (+900 or 840 mV), using an undivided cell, to afford the corresponding asatone or isoasatone-type compound as well as pinoresinol-type dilactones.

Hydroxycinnamic Acids as Markers of Italian Blood Orange Juices
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 1998Extraction, resolution, and determination of the trans-hydroxycinnamic acids (caffeic, p-coumaric, ferulic, and sinapic) were performed in 82 orange juices derived from the most important blood and blond varieties grown in Italy. Soluble solids, acidity, and anthocyanins were also determined.

Antibacterial Activity of Selected Hydroxycinnamic Acids
Journal of Food Science, 1983ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to determine the antibacterial effectiveness of selected hydroxycinnamic acids (caffeic, ferulic, pcoumaric) against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus at pH 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0 and
