Preparation of 8-hydroxyquinoline wires by decomposition of tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminium [PDF]
We fabricated 8-hydroxyquinoline (HQ) wires by two methods, decomposition of tris(HQ) aluminium at low pressure in a tube furnace and heating of HQ powder at atmospheric pressure. Fabricated wires were crystalline, and exhibited the same optical properties (absorption and photoluminescence) as HQ powder.

Anti-trypanosomal 8-hydroxyl naphthyridines are chelators of divalent transition metals [PDF]
The lack of information regarding the mechanisms of action (MoA) or specific molecular targets of phenotypically active compounds can prove a barrier to their development as chemotherapeutic agents.

Novel highly emissive non proteinogenic amino acids : synthesis of 1,3,4-thiadiazolyl asparagines and evaluation as fluorimetric chemosensors for biologically relevant transition metal cations [PDF]
Highly emissive heterocyclic asparagine derivatives bearing a 1,3,4-thiadiazolyl unit at the side chain, functionalised with electron donor or acceptor groups, were synthesised and evaluated as amino acid based fluorimetric chemosensors for metal cations

The Crystal Structures of Metal 8-Hydroxyquinolinate. I. Copper 8-Hydroxyquinolinate [PDF]
Abstract The crystal structure of anhydrous copper 8-hydroxyquinolinate has been determined by the two-dimensional Fourier method. It is monoclinic and has been shown to belong to the B21/a space group, with eight molecules in a cell of the dimensions: a=23.66, b=8.72, c=15.30Å and β=117.5.
