Arterial hypertension, its metabolic aspects and function of the kidneys inconvalescents after hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome

open access: yesТерапевтический архив, 2003
Aim. To characterize late convalescence after hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS), i.e. metabolic disorders and their relation with arterial pressure (AP) and renal function. Material and methods.

Nonlinear association of triglyceride‐glucose body mass index with all‐cause mortality in postmenopausal women, a retrospective cohort study: Evidence from the 2001 to 2014 National Health and nutrition examination survey

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 173, Issue 3, Page 1569-1579, June 2026.
Abstract Background The triglyceride‐glucose body mass index (TyG‐BMI) is a novel indicator combining an insulin resistance proxy (TyG index) with adiposity. It remains unclear how TyG‐BMI relates to long‐term mortality risk in postmenopausal women, a group prone to metabolic changes after menopause.

Perinatal and long‐term implications of diagnosing gestational diabetes mellitus using only fasting and one‐hour post‐load glucose concentrations: Secondary analysis of the GEMS trial and its five‐year follow‐up

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 105, Issue 6, Page 1075-1087, June 2026.
Women with gestational diabetes diagnosed by an elevated fasting ± one‐hour glucose concentration, compared with one‐hour alone, may have higher later diabetes risk, and their children greater perinatal complications and five‐year growth, supporting gestational diabetes subtyping for risk stratification.

The Duodenal Mucosa Plays a Key Role in Metabolic Regulation: Emerging Physiology and New Opportunities for Cell‐Directed and Barrier‐Related Interventions for the Treatment of Diabetes and Obesity

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue S3, Page 3-15, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The duodenum has historically been regarded as a passive digestive conduit for nutrient transit and absorption. However, emerging experimental and clinical evidence supports a revision of this view. In a contemporary model, the proximal small intestine also has roles as a metabolic sensor and endocrine signalling hub that exerts a powerful ...

ChREBP drives β‐cell proliferation under metabolic stress but not in pregnancy‐induced β‐cell expansion

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, Volume 17, Issue 6, Page 938-950, June 2026.
ChREBP is a context‐dependent regulator of adaptive β‐cell proliferation. It plays a pivotal role in driving β‐cell expansion under pathophysiological metabolic stress, such as insulin resistance and hyperglycemia, but has a limited role during physiological expansion in pregnancy.
