Detection of recurrent endometrial cancer via DNA methylation analysis of cervicovaginal self‐samples and urine

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 158, Issue 9, Page 2491-2500, 1 May 2026.
What's new? Post‐treatment surveillance for endometrial cancer aims to detect recurrence early, potentially improving outcome. Emerging evidence suggests that DNA methylation analysis of self‐collected cervicovaginal and urine samples is a promising approach.

Whole‐Genome Bisulfite Sequencing Identifies Blood‐Based DNA Methylation Biomarker for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Carcinogenesis, Volume 65, Issue 5, Page 603-614, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Functional DNA methylation abnormalities are a hallmark of human cancers and may be a promising biomarker for their early diagnosis. Moreover, the largest methylation differences can improve the sensitivity of noninvasive diagnoses of solid tumors.

Isocitrate Dehydrogenase Mutations in Cancer: From Bench to Bedside Applications

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2026.
Mutant isocitrate dehydrogenase affects multiple cancer types. Alterations in IDH1 and IDH2 result in abnormal enzyme activity, leading to the overproduction of D‐2‐hydroxyglutarate (D‐2HG). This metabolite disrupts cellular metabolism and epigenetic regulation, driving cancer initiation, progression, and metastasis.
