Hemin as a protective agent in an in vitro model of hypoxia/reoxygenation-induced injury
Objective: Ischemia-reperfusion injury exacerbates myocardial damage and affects the prognosis of patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction. This study investigates the potential cytoprotective effects of hemin in an in vitro cardiomyocyte model ...

Possible therapeutic repositioning of valproic acid: From epileptic seizures to acute kidney injury
Valproic acid, an anticonvulsant, may be repositioned to prevent acute kidney injury due to ischemia followed by reperfusion. It preserves renal functions, electrolyte homeostasis and active sodium transport in kidney tubules, and blocks the onset of hypertension.

ノウ キョケツ ニタイスル Heat shock protein 70 ノ ホゴ サヨウ シンセイジ マウス ノウ キョケツ テイサンソ フカ モデル オ モチイテ [PDF]
Apoptosis is implicated in neonatal brain injury among various forms of cell death. Here we show that over-expression of heat shock protein (Hsp) 70, an anti-apoptotic protein, protects the neonatal brain from hypoxic/ischemic (H/I) injury and the ...

Advancing design strategies in smart stimulus‐responsive liposomes for drug release and nanomedicine
Schematic illustration of stimulus‐responsive liposomes designed for controlled drug release and nanomedicine. The innermost circle represents different liposomal structures, including unilamellar, multilamellar, and multivesicular liposomes. The middle layer illustrates the responsive phospholipid components.

Biomaterial design strategies for enhancing mitochondrial transplantation therapy
Biomaterials to facilitate mitochondrial transplantation therapy: biomaterials as barriers to protect mitochondria from pathophysiological microenvironments, like osmotic stress caused by the excessive concentration of calcium ion, reactive oxygen species, and advanced glycation end products; biomaterials integrating with biochemical cues to improve ...

HIF-1α mediated placental ischemic signaling in the development of early-onset preeclampsia
Early-onset preeclampsia is a severe placental disorder driven primarily by impaired uteroplacental perfusion and early placental ischemia. Increasing evidence identifies HIF-1α–mediated hypoxic signaling as a central regulator linking placental ischemia
