The Effect of Interleukin-6 (IL-6), Interleukin-11 (IL-11), Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3 (STAT3), and AKT Signaling on Adipocyte Proliferation in a Rat Model of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

open access: yesMedical Science Monitor, 2019
Background Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is associated with low-grade inflammation, adipocyte hypertrophy, hyperglycemia, increased serum testosterone levels, and reduced lipolysis.

Recombinant Soluble Interleukin-11 (IL-11) Receptor α-Chain Can Act as an IL-11 Antagonist [PDF]

open access: yesBlood, 1997
We have expressed a soluble N-glycosylated form of the murine interleukin-11 (IL-11) receptor α-chain (sIL-11R) and examined signaling in cells expressing the gp130 molecule. In the presence of gp130 but not the transmembrane IL-11R, the sIL-11R mediated IL-11–dependent differentiation of M1 leukemic cells and proliferation in Ba/F3 cells.

Sustained Therapeutic Efficacy of Intravenous Plasminogen Concentrate in Pediatric Patients With Type 1 Plasminogen Deficiency: An Analysis of Dosing Parameters and Clinical Outcomes

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Type 1 plasminogen deficiency (PLGD‐1) is an ultra‐rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by variants in the PLG gene and affects approximately 1.6 individuals per million. The condition is characterized by decreased plasminogen levels and impaired function, resulting in fibrin‐rich lesions on mucous membranes throughout the body.

IL-11 Attenuates Liver Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury (IRI) through STAT3 Signaling Pathway in Mice.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
BackgroundThe protective role of IL-11, an IL-6 family cytokine, has been implicated in ischemia/reperfusion injury (IRI) in the heart and kidney, but its role has not been elucidated in liver IRI. This study was designed to evaluate the effects of IL-11

Overexpression of IL-11 promotes premalignant gastric epithelial hyperplasia in isolation from germline gp130-JAK-STAT driver mutations.

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Physiology - Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology, 2019
Expression of the cytokine IL-11 is elevated in human Helicobacter pylori infection and progressively increases with worsening gastric pathology. Additionally, IL-11 is required for tumor development in STAT3-dependent murine models of gastric cancer (GC)

Rational Use of Herbal Products in Pediatric Patients Treated With Anticancer Drugs in the European Union

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction The use of herbal medical preparation (HMP) is rising among pediatric oncology patients, often to manage treatment‐related symptoms. Their effectiveness remains uncertain, and the risk of herb–drug interactions is underestimated.

Caspase-11 Mediates Neutrophil Chemotaxis and Extracellular Trap Formation During Acute Gouty Arthritis Through Alteration of Cofilin Phosphorylation

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2019
Gout is characterized by attacks of arthritis with hyperuricemia and monosodium urate (MSU) crystal-induced inflammation within joints. Innate immune responses are the primary drivers for tissue destruction and inflammation in gout.

Cancer-Associated Fibroblasts Promote the Chemo-resistance in Gastric Cancer through Secreting IL-11 Targeting JAK/STAT3/Bcl2 Pathway

open access: yesCancer research and treatment : official journal of Korean Cancer Association, 2018
Purpose Our aim was to detect the potential role of interleukin 11 (IL-11) in the development of chemo-resistance in gastric cancer and to reveal the mechanism involved in the process.

Guidelines for Pediatric Radiotherapy Simulation: A Report From the Children's Oncology Group Radiation Oncology Discipline

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric radiation therapy presents unique challenges compared to adult treatments, including those of immobilization, potential need for sedation, and the critical importance of accurate, reproducible positioning. Additionally, heightened attention to imaging doses is necessary to minimize long‐term toxicity in survivors.
