Mesenchymal stem cells and IL-37: a powerful combination.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are able to exert immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory actions. Thanks to these properties, MSCs may be a promising alternative approach for the treatment of inflammatory disease. Important cytokines involved in inflammation are those included in the IL-1 family.
