Insertion of the CXC chemokine ligand 9 (CXCL9) into the mouse hepatitis virus genome results in protection from viral-induced encephalitis and hepatitis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The role of the CXC chemokine ligand 9 (CXCL9) in host defense following infection with mouse hepatitis virus (MHV) was determined. Inoculation of the central nervous system (CNS) of CXCL9-/- mice with MHV resulted in accelerated and increased mortality ...

Spatiotemporal Noise Triggering Infiltrative Tumor Growth under Immune Surveillance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A spatiotemporal noise is assumed to reflect the environmental fluctuation in a spatially extended tumor system. We introduce firstly the structure factor to reveal the invasive tumor growth quantitatively. The homogenous environment can lead to an expansive growth of the tumor cells, while the inhomogenous environment underlies an infiltrative growth.

Integrative Pan-Cancer Analysis of RNMT: a Potential Prognostic and Immunological Biomarker [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Background: RNA guanine-7 methyltransferase (RNMT) is one of the main regulators of N7-methylguanosine, and the deregulation of RNMT correlated with tumor development and immune metabolism. However, the specific function of RNMT in pan-cancer remains unclear.

Tumor Burden and Immunotherapy: Impact on Immune Infiltration and Therapeutic Outcomes

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
Cancer immunotherapy has revolutionized the treatment landscape in medical oncology, but its efficacy has been variable across patients. Biomarkers to predict such differential response to immunotherapy include cytotoxic T lymphocyte infiltration, tumor ...

The heterogeneity of NOTCH1 to tumor immune infiltration in pan-cancer. [PDF]

open access: yesSci Rep
NOTCH1 signaling, a vital regulator of cell proliferation and differentiation, is widely involved in the occurrence and development of malignant tumors. Pharmacological regulation of NOTCH1 is promising in tumor immunotherapy, whereas the effective rate ...

The Role of Immune Escape and Immune Cell Infiltration in Breast Cancer [PDF]

open access: yesBreast Care, 2018
While detailed analysis of aberrant cancer cell signaling pathways and changes in cancer cell DNA has dominated the field of breast cancer biology for years, there now exists increasing evidence that the tumor microenvironment (TME) including tumor-infiltrating immune cells support the growth and development of breast cancer and further facilitate ...

Molecular profiling of resident and infiltrating mononuclear phagocytes during rapid adult retinal degeneration using single-cell RNA sequencing. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Neuroinflammation commonly accompanies neurodegeneration, but the specific roles of resident and infiltrating immune cells during degeneration remains controversial.

An AI-Ready Multiplex Staining Dataset for Reproducible and Accurate Characterization of Tumor Immune Microenvironment [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We introduce a new AI-ready computational pathology dataset containing restained and co-registered digitized images from eight head-and-neck squamous cell carcinoma patients. Specifically, the same tumor sections were stained with the expensive multiplex immunofluorescence (mIF) assay first and then restained with cheaper multiplex immunohistochemistry

Regulatory T Cells: Barriers of Immune Infiltration Into the Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
Regulatory T cells (Tregs) are key immunosuppressive cells that promote tumor growth by hindering the effector immune response. Tregs utilize multiple suppressive mechanisms to inhibit pro-inflammatory responses within the tumor microenvironment (TME) by
