The oncolytic peptide LTX-315 triggers immunogenic cell death [PDF]
International audienceLTX-315 is a cationic amphilytic peptide that preferentially permeabilizes mitochondrial membranes, thereby causing partially BAX/BAK1-regulated, caspase-independent necrosis.

Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

The importance of immunogenic cell death for modern tumor immunotherapy [PDF]
Immunogenic cell death is characterized by the release of molecules with damage-associated molecular patterns which can subsequently activate immune system. Only specific types of cell death can release these molecules. Classification of immunogenic cell

PANoptosis in the pathogenesis of myelodysplastic syndromes
PANoptosis, a combination of three types of programmed cell death, is mediated by a large protein complex called a PANoptosome. In healthy bone marrow hematopoietic cells, PANoptosis is restricted by inhibitory signaling. In MDS, bone marrow cells become sensitive to the PANoptotic stimuli due to the aberrant inactivation of inhibitory signaling or ...

642 Repurposing bortezomib for improved treatment of melanoma by exploiting immunogenic cell death
Immunogenic cell death (ICD) constitutes a prominent pathway for the activation of the immune system against cancer, which in turn determines the long-term success of anticancer therapies.

Delivery of DNA‐encoded vaccines and proteins in mice using cutaneous suction‐mediated transfection
Cutaneous suction‐mediated transfection in mice for delivery of DNA‐encoded vaccines and proteins. A critical limitation of DNA vaccines and other therapeutics is transfection in vivo to produce the encoded antigens or therapeutic proteins. Cutaneous suction‐based methods have demonstrated effectiveness in many animal models and have been successfully ...

Crizotinib-induced immunogenic cell death in non-small cell lung cancer
Certain chemotherapeutic agents can exert their anticancer effect through indirect immune-dependent mechanism. Here, the authors screen a library of tyrosine kinase inhibitors and show that crizotinib is an effective stimulator of immunogenic cell death ...

Trial watch: chemotherapy-induced immunogenic cell death in immuno-oncology
The term ‘immunogenic cell death’ (ICD) denotes an immunologically unique type of regulated cell death that enables, rather than suppresses, T cell-driven immune responses that are specific for antigens derived from the dying cells. The ability of ICD to

Glioblastoma cells express calcitonin receptor variants (CT receptor isoforms) that may help them survive stress. Using qPCR, transcript‐specific long‐read nanopore sequencing, immunofluorescence co‐localisation and comparative sequence analysis, this study identifies a novel alternatively spliced CALCR transcript that encodes the CTb receptor isoform ...

Immunogenic cell death inducers as anticancer agents
It has been widely thought that the occasional success of anticancer chemotherapies is mediated by direct, efficient cytostatic or (better) cytotoxic effects of the antineoplastic agent on tumor cells. Nonetheless, there is accumulating evidence for the hypothesis that long-term clinical success (which is measured in years and decades rather than weeks
